Doe Or Die Takes Us Higher On New LP

Following a five year absence, Chicago-based group Doe Or Die is returning with their 6th LP also titled Doe Or Die.

After putting Chicago on the map in the early 90s, D.O.D has been laying low for the past few years. Now part of a Windy City resurgence, the group recently re-emerged courtesy of the Kanye West-produced "Higher." The single received solid rotation on BET and brought attention to the forgotten trio.

"It's feel good music. Sometimes you gotta give people what they're not expecting and that's what we want to do. We're both from Chicago, so we both know the vibe and the style," group member A.K. said in a statement. Belo adds, "we've been around for a long time and Kanye respects us and we respect what he's accomplished. By him being hot right now and what we're bringing to the table, it's just going to be another nuclear explosive song. I know it's going to blow."

The record also includes production from Scott Storch, DJ Quik and Chicago producer the legendary Traxster.

Doe Or Die's self-titled album hits stores February 1 on The Legion Records.

It's Do Or Die, not Doe! Anyway, they have not been on a five year hiatus, their last album 'Pimpin' Ain't Dead' was released in 2003. By the way, they are supposed to have two albums coming out this year because they still owe Rap-A-Lot one more so J. Prince will be releasing a Do Or Die album as well. That's also why they are going by D.O.D., because J. Prince also owns the right to the group name.
