Republicans and Racism Pt. 1: Ann Coulter

Part 1 in a potential series of posts on racism and the republican party. Today's main feature: Ann Coulter, the well-known republican columnist. Ann is a former employee of the National Review, and is often featured on Fox News, and other partisan news sources. Her commentary is so absurd it is often laughable, but none the less she enjoyes a sizable republican following. She has more than a few bestsellers to her credit, and remains a highly popular figure in the world of political hackery.
Anyways... rather than continuing on I'll let Ann's racism and bigotry speak for itself.

ALAN COLMES (co-host): Would you like to convert these people [Muslims] all to Christianity?
COULTER: The ones that we haven't killed, yes.
COLMES: So no one should be Muslim. They should all be Christian?
COULTER: That would be a good start, yes.

Like many of you, I carefully reviewed the lawsuits against the airlines in order to determine which airlines had engaged in the most egregious discrimination, so I could fly only that airline. But oddly, rather than bragging about the charges, the airlines heatedly denied discriminating against Middle Eastern passengers. What a wasted marketing opportunity! Imagine the great slogans the airlines could use:
"Now Frisking All Arabs -- Twice!"
"More Civil-Rights Lawsuits Brought by Arabs Than Any Other Airline!"
"The Friendly Skies -- Unless You're an Arab"
"You Are Now Free to Move About the Cabin -- Not So Fast, Mohammed!"

From a national review column she wrote in 2001 followin the sept. 11th attacks:
"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war."

1) muslim isn't a race it's a religion.... so how you can be racist against muslims is beyond me...
2)racial profiling...it works and some people live by it
3) once again she's talking about religion...
this lady seems more like a comedian than anything else though

And one can easily assume she is referring to middle eastern muslims. But, yes Coulter does seem to be a comedian, unfortunately she is actually a best-selling conservative pundit. In fact her books are actually recommended by the Conservative Book Club.
