Scarface may not be based on a true story but i guarentee you its based on true events. This shit depicts the american dream from a poor immigrants prespective. Ive seen both movies and i dont place goodfellas even close to scarface.

i dunno i just dont think scarface is as believeable, like no offense, but race plays a huge part, and i dont think this cuban drug dealer wouldve made such a huge name for himself in the US, be paying people off, because most cops are white, and lets face it racism is abundant, and i dont think they would take bribes or payoffs from this guy.

Seeing it as a crime movie, its on the same level
One of the big pluses Goodfellas has on Scarface is that Goodfellas is an actual look inside the mob while on the other hand Scarface is such a simple look at your typical rags to riches story
