also a lot of young americans are joining the army for reasons other than to help their country. such as to pay for college, which is the reason my boyfriend and best friend are in the army national guard. its just a bride that some people unfortunatly are forced to take in order to pay for education.

no wonder you have such low karma asshole

anyways it is voluntary... no one is forced into the military... but when you join for college money, or some other reason besides doing your fucking job...they have a right to keep you in doing your job

every enlistment in the military is for at least 3 years....with usually a 3 - 4 year IRR (Inactive Ready Reserve) claus attached on... so you can serve 3 years active duty and still be called back for 3-4 more years... so it's not like the military is breaking contract agreements... the people had ample time to view and sign them... i know when i signed my life over for 4 years, i became very familiar with the contract and the laws regarding that contract.

for these people to complain that they are being kept past their enlistment is false
