Alledgedly he fucks them out of money using shady business tactics.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

I think that had to do as much with egos as money.

kam didn't whip cube's ass; that was solo, kam's homeboy.

this shit is simple.  after advertising, manufacturing, distribution costs and whatever costs are paid there's basicallly a finite amount of money left over.  these label execs/managers are splitting that with the artists.  muthaphukkaz aren't thinking like communists, and every artist clearly thinks that even a 50/50% split with profits is a bad deal because it's their music, and the suits don't really do shit but handle the politics of the business.  these conflicts we see are really just the natural growth of artists as they try to cut out as many middlemen as possible.
these artists always want to break down why their contracts are fucked up and what dealings are shady and all of that; but the reality is you'd have never heard of tray dee  without snoop.  you'd have never heard of kausion without cube.  so it's hard to say what's fair and what's not.  what's clear to me is it's like that old adage, never do business with friends.   if your talking about cats like suge, cube, eazy, snoop...it seems like those cats either had an overinflated view of their own importance in creating that success, and that their own personal finances tip the scale against their sense of fairness or maybe even loyalty.

shit, pac was pushing units like he pushed at death row before death row.  cats sign these contracts and they tacitly accept getting fucked on some level from the jump.
