I can drive, talk on the phone and insult other road users and the car doesn't have to be an automatic.

this police detective i know said that the cell phone laws in the US were just a front to get people to buy more things from cell phone companies... just think of the act of talking on a cell phone while driving...

you have one hand off the wheel, this is just the same as someone with a coffee, or food in their hand or just sombody thats relaxing...none of these are illegal

then talking... if you've ever had someone in your car, then you've just done the same thing as talking on your cell phone....in fact people sitting next to you can be a bigger distraction than anyone on the phone could ever be

alot of the police around here don't enforce the law because it's bullshit. if the fast food companies could invent something that you have to buy to hold food to your mouth, you can bet that eating in your car would be illegal and everyone would have to buy that thing

before i've seen a foot patrol office chase a girl in a car through town when she was on her mobile.. when she knew was being chased she zoomed off and hid behind a club.. hehe

i probably get cut up by people on mobiles pulling out of junctions without looknig etc about once a month
