Raising the amount of posts required to 500 won't help, because they will then be even more inclined to just put one word posts in topics. Maybe lower the required posts to 50, but speciify that they actually have to be 50 meaningful posts, that should solve the problem me thinks.

and who determines what a meaningful post is? its subjective.

i dont think anyone would waste there time posting 500 insignificant posts.  500 or a thousand would be good, because the person would prob feel like its taking forever to get to the number and give up.
