"i can't touch a Japanese RPG anymore, i played every american version of Final Fantasy up to number 8 and that one just ruined the series for me, it felt like a total rehash of all the FF's before it

so then i started playing american and european RPGS and i'll never go back... those are real RPGS, freedom of choice, you get to design your own character in most of them, alot of them have more than one ending... in my book these three options alone make these RPG's better than japanese ones"
FF8 was my 1st RPG so i didn't know anything about previous storylines which deffinately helped .

As for American and Europea RPGs , I'm not really a big fan of total freedom in videogames , I like having a certain path that I have to go through to continue the storyline while being able to finish the odd side quest, like the FFs , Chrono cross ,chrono trigger etc
Also ,a lot of Japanese RPGs have different endings
