Juve make Cassano Bid
« on: June 01, 2005, 08:04:39 AM »
After it looking unlikely that Juve would make an offer for Cassano, they seem to have changed their mind, wonder how Chelsea would react if the offer with Mutu is true and goes through?

Also isn't that twice that Nonda has had moves to Juve cancelled due to injury  :-\

Juventus make Cassano bid

Wednesday 1 June, 2005

Juventus have reportedly made Roma an initial player plus cash offer in their bid to sign Antonio Cassano.

Director general Luciano Moggi is understood to have met with Giallorossi chief operating officer Rosella Sensi on Tuesday to start talks.

The Bianconeri are ready to hand over Adrian Mutu and £9m for the Italian international forward.

Moggi made contact at the request of Fabio Capello, who bossed the youngster during his time in the Italian capital.

Juve are also keen to wrap up the deal as soon as possible given that Inter and Real Madrid are also interested in the former Bari starlet.

The Stadio Olimpico side will now have to decide what to do with Cassano as his contract expires in 2006.

The club have already extended the contracts of Vincenzo Montella and Francesco Totti but an agreement with Cassano may be difficult.

The cost of keeping the 23-year-old would be high and it may make more sense to cash in on him, especially as they will now be paying Totti £7.5m-a-season.

It was believed that Juve would offer cash and Shabani Nonda to the Giallorossi but that now looks unlikely.

Reports in Italy today suggest that Nonda has failed a medical and therefore will not complete a summer move to Juve from Monaco.

Bayern Munich stopper Robert Kovac has passed his medical and he is set to be confirmed as a Juve player very soon.

Meanwhile, Olivier Kapo could be heading back to France. The winger has failed to settle in Turin since his move from Auxerre and Monaco are keen on his services.

Hold on a second. Roma are paying Totti 7.5 mill a season?! What the fuck is that all about like?
Well she moved in ways
That kept her there in our minds for days
Weeks and months it was
I was that amazed and there she stays
Surrounded by the what-ifs and the maybes

Naw, only the journalists did. Juventus team manager never changes his mind, he already knows what to do.

wonder how Chelsea would react if the offer with Mutu is true and goes through?
The Mutu-Chelsea trial has nothing to do with Juventus. It's a player vs Chelsea thing. Mutu is already a Juventus player, and he already debupted with "us".

Also isn't that twice that Nonda has had moves to Juve cancelled due to injury  :-\
We just wanted to sign him and to add him in some trades.. to get other players.

Totti is getting about 5.8 m per year, which is a lot, but not "that" crazy, here in Italy..
About Cassano, it's Cassano who wanna go to Juve, and Capello likes him.
But next year he'll be a free agent, so there's no rush.
Juve has Trezeguet, Del Piero, Mutu, Zalayeta and Ibrahimovic in attack: we're complete.
We have other priorities.
I'll keep you posted.

Well, let's say we have already a good defence (Zebina, Thuram, Cannavaro & Zambrotta) so we simply have to replace Montero & Ferrara who will retire :'(. Rumors are that we signed/are about to sign Robert Kovac from Bayern Munchen as a free agent, and we will probably add Igor Tudor (from Siena) in the roster too. Another player we will add in the roster for sure is Zambrotta's backup leftback Giorgio Chiellini. He's a 20 years old player who plays for the National team too, as a reserve. I dunno about other movements.

About the midfield, the real player Juve is searching to buy is a central midfielder to pair with Emerson. A big name. But i dont know who he is yet.

Look, you never know what Juventus general manager is doing. Never. He always lie. Last year he bought Cannavaro & Ibrahimovic just 2 hours before the end of the market. He's like that. So we simply have to wait till it's over for all the surprises. Never trusts newspapers talking about Juve market.

P.S. Right now Juve is in Japan for a tournee.

Maybe this could be your new midfielder...

Giannachedda snubs Lazio for Juventus contract offer
tribalfootball.com - June 2, 2005

Lazio midfielder Giuliano Giannichedda is expected to be confirmed a Juventus player before the weekend.

Giannichedda is moving to the Serie A champions in a Bosman transfer after rejecting a new contract offer from Lazio president Claudio Lotito in a tense meeting on Tuesday.

Lazio had offered a two-year deal worth £600,000-a-season, but Giannichedda has turned it down in favour of Juve.

The Italian champs have tabled a two-year deal, with an option of another year, worth £800,000-a-season to the midfielder.
NO MORE WAR

See, there are a lot of player who every summer are about to move to Turin, according to journalists. It's Italy, lol. Football sells. Let me quickly write down all the players we've already acquired according to them (i aint lying): Chiellini (Fiorentina), Kovac (Bayern M.), Barzagli (Palermo), Evra (Monaco), Chivu (Roma), Kromkamp (AZ Alkmaar), Diogo (River Plate), Coda (Empoli), Bonera (Parma), Bovo (Parma), Cassetti (Lecce), Heitinga (Ajax), Ibanez (Atletic Bilbao), Samuel (Real Madrid), Mancini (Roma), Perea (Atletic Madrid), Parisi (Messina), Meghni (Bologna), Essien (Lyon), Mascherano (River Plate), Edu (Arsenal), Zokora (Saint Etienne), Giannichedda (Lazio), Maxwell (Ajax), Ledesma (Lecce), Mozart (Reggina), Szymkowiak (Trabzonspor), Joachin (Real Betis), Pizarro (Udinese), C. Zanetti (Inter), Xavi (Barcellona), Helguera (Real Madrid), Gerrard (Liverpool), Cassano (Roma), Giliardino (Parma), Vieri (Inter), Recoba (Inter), Nonda (Monaco), Fernando Torres (Atletic Madrid), Robinho (Santos). I mean we're talking about nothing. Giannichedda is a free agent, and for sure he's interested in signing with a good team like Inter, Milan or Juve. But nothing is official yet. Yesterday they said Edu from Arsenal was official, but i've heard he signed with Liverpool. We just have to wait. Capello said they'll sign at least 2 "good" players with the same skills of last year's aquisitions (Cannavaro, Emerson, Ibrahimovic, Mutu), we will see. Giannichedda aint a champion for sure, so if we buy him for free, it's for the bench.
