Quik said on a song, "and at the top of the tree where CMW sit" or something and Eiht took it as a diss.

before quik signed a major deal he was doing underground tapes, and mention eiht and cmw.  he was actually complimenting them but eiht took it as a diss.

Damn....wtf.....I know u don't wanna get off topic, but that's somethin I NEVER thought about, and now that I think about it, damn.....Lemme see...just listenin to his sound, I'd say he stopped workin with him either before Balance and Options, or before Under the influence, because he hasn't really had that same Quik sound since like 99-2000. He has done some tite shit since B&O, but definitely nothin has been able to touch Rhythmalism. I just figured he was changin his style to adapt to what was modern, but it could be because he doesn't work with G1 anymore. What has G1 been workin on since then?

I think "Pitchin Ona Party" is the last DJ Quik track with his trademark style

Quik worked with G-One from 1994-2000. Quik changed his style up every album to make it sound fresh and new. Not one of his albums have sounded alike. So it wasnt really beacuse of G-One that his style has changed...When he worked with G-One they sounded incrediable. But he only really worked with him on a few tracks of his albums...G-One is now doing his own thing as a producer.

In this old magazine i remember reading from 1998 or 1999 (when i was into rap big time, & as you can see by my lack of posts in the last few years, my interest has been killed by this fake bullshit that comes out these days) it was an article & interview with Eiht & he said it started when he made a song called "Duck Sick" & said "Quick to get the Duck Sick". DJ Quik took it as a diss & thats how it started as far as Eiht was concerned at least back in 1998 or 1999
