We need the westcoast back in the rap game BIGTIME.

I think they should still distribute blackwallstreet on interscope or aftermath. Just keep 50 Cent away from Game. Let each man do his own agenda and become successfull. Fuck all this who sides with who leading to blackballling bullshit.

Don't put all your hopes and credits on Game for bringing the west back, the man doesn't even have a signature westcoast sound.

Bishop and Warren G are going to bring the west back, no matter what happens with Interscope. Trust on them. They found a chemistry and they are going to do big. They will provide a classic album even if it's released independently.

Detox will also be very westcoast influenced, no matter Game, no matter 50. The signature westcoast sound we all love to hear will rise again. There is two albums that prove we can trust on Dre.

Kokane, the inventor of the G-Funk, has probably a major deal right now, with the right marketing he will blow the fuck up, hopefully he will be on Detox.

Nate Dogg will also contribute to the new rise. Hearing him rap is refreshing. Now he can both provide hooks and rhymes. His album can blow up really big this time.

Hi-tek, a producer that isn't even from the west is going to play a big part also in bringing back that signature west sound. Him and Warren g producing with Dre mixing will hit big time.

I'm starting to feel positive about what's going to happen the next few years musically.

Just forget about the rotten apple (Game) and listen to Move when necessary by Bishop and Warren and consider it's greatness.

Your posts usually make great sense to me, but this is just... Nahhhhh... There's no way Dre will drop Detox using what you call that "signature westcoast sound". That ain't the way to bring the west back neither, as that "signature sound" is played out & the mainstream isn't interested in that anymore. They'll be coming with a refreshing new sound and blow the fuck up once Detox drops. I'm not expecting the west to be really back before Detox drops tho. It's all eyes on Dre now. Bring in a new formula that can change the game for the better.

I hope this aint true, but I know for a fact that Game apologized to Dre on 100.3 The Beat on Thursday nite. I was at work and my boy called and told me to turn to the Beat cuz Game was on the aire going off.  When the host asked Game what Dre thought aobut the whole situation he was like "I don't know. I don't talk about Dre. When u see Dre, u can ask him". Then later on he said "I wanna apologize to Dre cuz I told him I wouldn't diss 50 at SummerJam". When I heard that, I was like this isn't good. Sounds like Dre and Jimmy are gonna side with 50

To me the Westcoast signature sound is using somekind of melodic funk. In the music industry in general there is a wave of melodic periods followed by rythmic periods. NWA was mainly rhytmic, Chronic was melodic, 2001 was rhytmic, Detox will be melodic. Not saying it will be exactly the same sound as the Chronic. But I'm pretty sure Dre will bring some kind of melodic funk back to music with Detox. Hi-tek and Warren G provide a good melodic westcoast sound base for Dre to put some extra boombastic drums and funky basslines under. Hopefully Dre will hook up with the magnificent bassplayer Colin Wolfe again. And offcourse Dre will bring some totally new sampling and mixing methods aswell as fresh drum patterns to the table like he always has done.

I'm not talking about a next Chronic, I'm talking about an album that will put more melody in rap music after the 2001 fase. Like the Chronic did after the NWA era. Offcourse it will contain a refreshing and new sound.

But before that all happens: listen all day to Move when neccasary from Bishop. Everybody must buy that single like a maniac, show appreciation. The song is effectively simple. It's fresh to death.

Na man that wasn't G Funk. Dre's G funk really established with the Chronic.

Quik can also be considered a G Funk pioneer. But it was ATL who came up with the sound. They slowed down the tempo. They simplefied the drumsounds, made the sample come to the forefront.

The recorded most of Livin' like hustlers allready in the eighties.

You might call me crazy but I see Snoop taking the Dogg Pound back to Death Row and becoming top dog there with Suge. I also see them signing Game. It makes sense since Game don't give a fuck about GUnot no more and Snoop ain't really fuckin' with Dre. Tha Row might not sell records now but they would with Snoop and Game. Thing with Dre is, you'll never know what goes on behind the scenes. They might as well be 10 tracks deep in Detox, working TOGETHER. But Snoop signing with DeathRow? I just can't see it happening. Snoop probably learned from his past experiences with Suge.
