(New York, NY – May 25, 2005) Halftooth Records is pleased to announce it has signed a deal with renowned hip-hop duo Camp Lo to release their next project. Entitled Camp Lo: Fort Apache, this release will be the official Camp Lo mixtape.

Camp Lo, made up of Suede and Chiba, is well known for making classic party/street joints. The legendary hip-hop duo’s next project, Camp Lo: Fort Apache, is a futuristic approach to their classic 80’s sound. Teaming up with acclaimed hip-hop producer Ski (who produced a majority of Camp Lo’s Uptown Saturday Night, as well as tracks for Jay-Z, Foxy Brown, Lil’ Kim, Fat Joe and more), as well as up-and-coming producer Oddisee, the progressive growth in their music is apparent.

In 1996 Camp Lo made their debut with their hit single “Coolie High,” featured on the Great White Hype soundtrack. In 1997, Camp Lo released their debut album Uptown Saturday Night (Arista/Profile), which received rave reviews and quickly became a true hip-hop classic album. Their hit single from Uptown Saturday Night, “Luchini” is considered by many to be one of the best and most influential hip-hop singles of all time. In 2002, Camp Lo released their sophomore album, Let’s Do it Again (Dymond Crook), which spawned the hit single “Glow.” This year, in addition to releasing their new single “Gotcha,” Camp Lo has signed a deal with Halftooth Records and Blacksmith Management, securing their triumphant return to the hip-hop scene.

“We are extremely excited and proud to release Camp Lo: Fort Apache. We have been genuine fans of Camp Lo since the release of Uptown Saturday Night. It is an honor to be able to work with such talented and innovative artists” says David Schrager of Halftooth Records.

Says Corey Smyth of Blacksmith Management, “I am very excited to be working with Camp Lo. They have been one of my favorites for a while. They are at the height of their rhyme game.”

Camp Lo’s music has always been able to walk that fine line between dope lyricism and hot party music. Not only is their music classic; with the release of Camp Lo: Fort Apache, it is timeless.

Halftooth Records will release Camp Lo’s mixtape, Camp Lo: Fort Apache, in late August, 2005.
