I guess bein from LA, I am never suprised when I see west coast rappers beefin and all else. For one, it's almost in the LA attitude to never support people who aren't from your neighborhood, school, that you didn't grow up with, didn't play ball with, and all else. So whenever somebody new comes out, if they didn't know them, or if they knew them and weren't already cool with them, it's rare to see them showin support. Lil Fizz from B2k went to my HS, and I was cool with him there but a lotta people thought he was just another lil dude who claimed to be in the "next Immature". So when they blew up, nobody was supportin him, even though he went to school with them. It was more jealousy than anything else. When Game first got signed, people who went to Cerritos Comm. College with him were automatically jealous, and most of them have negative stories about him.
Basically...as bad as it sounds, it seems to be in the LA attitude to hate. Not only that, but people in LA are selective as hell about who represents us. The same way LA is divided more on blue and red (and all the other colors), and how the south is divided more on black and white, the attitude carries on to music. So when somebody from The South makes it, a lot of people from the hometown are happy as hell that somebody made it, even if they aren't from their hood or whatever else. But shit...nowadays, Atlanta is turnin into LA, and many of their artists are fightin to be the biggest artists there, especially since they are runnin Hip Hop. So when we say "LA should be like the south where they support their artists", that won't mean anything soon because Atl doesn't even do like they used to.
So...that's just somethin I observed and felt I had to speak on.
