The Source is strapped. Following discrimination lawsuits, lost ad revenue, and an alleged shooting, things are reportedly getting more heated at The Source Magazine. Two weeks after General Manager Leroy Peoples and Marketing Director Alvin Childs were charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting an aspiring rapper, armed guards have been hired to patrol the publication's Manhattan offices, New York Post's Page Six reported. "They carry cuffs and Glocks and stand watch near the elevator," an insider told the Post. Meanwhile, the self-proclaimed Hip-Hop Bible continues to slip in exposure. According to New York's Daily News, The Source's circulation has dropped 10% between 2003 and 2004. Reports say the mag has not filed claims for circulation figures this year.
