My top 2 in no order would be:
Chris Martin (Coldplay)
Kurt Cobain (Nirvana)

These 2 guys's voices are just unbelievable...their voices carry their bands

and then these guys are pretty damn good also...

Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana)
Thom York (Radiohead)
Chris Cornell (Audioslave, Soundgarden)
Serj Tankian (SOAD)

Yeah, I don't really think Hetfield's voice is all that great, either.  Probably just a testament to their, urgh, tenacity and relentless pursuit of success, though, because they're still the biggest metal act ever.
