They picked him over Derek Anderson, and Derek Anderson was one of the candidates I wanted the Lakers to sign. So maybe there is good reasoning behind this.

Phil Jackson.

In Phil I Trust 8) 8) 8) 8)

Word

Exactly
I trust his judgement. Remember the contributions Ron Harper and Brian Shaw made for us during those championship years? B Shaw bailed us out a few times, that Portland game 7 in 2000 comes to mind, with those 3 threes he made in the fourth quarter. Ron Harper gave us that stability and veteran leadeship, I think Aaron McKie will end up playing that role for us. They're not looking for him to score, but to be the initiator. I feel more comfortable having McKie as the initiator rather than Chucky Atkins.

I thought Derek Andeson would be a better choice myself but if Phil wants Aaron McKie, he must have good reasons.
Being a LAKER is a privilige. Unfortunately some "Lakers" have forgotten that.

Los Angeles Lakers
Anaheim Angels
