For those who have seen this, at the very end of the movie when morgan freeman is narratting at the end and he is talking about how no one knew what ended up happening to clint eastwood's character, what does he meen when he says "I just wanted you to know what kind of man your father is."

I guess you've slept during the movie.
Throughout the movie Eastwood's character was trying to wrote a letter to his estranged daughter. We know he wasn't a good father to her and they hadn't talked in years.  Freeman was constantly asking him: have you written the letter yet? But I guess Eastwood couldn't do it. And finally, at the end, it was Freeman who wrote to her.
