There are 2 factors for me :

1) First unless you are rich, it's impossible to buy 25 albums a month
2) I'm not gonna buy a trash album. Nowadays at least 90% of the albums released have between 5-8 fillers (even more). The rap game is more and more wack since the 21st century and even more 2-3 years. Plus for me rap has taken a more important role in music these days. Back in the beginning, some people were complainin about hip hop  not to be recognized... Don't get me wrong it's good to see some people have success but now it's way too much. Rap is like pop, everyone can release an album, skills are not a factor, it's all about club records, beefs and history- past of the (wannabe) mc. That's why people who got talent or the OG don't believe in rap no more. They don't want take the usual way and since nobody (in term of sales) cares about real hip hop , they give up or do another thing. To finish, stop with this Pac and Big argument, it's just stupid and have a very narrow view of hip hop history
