I do agree. But look, Lakers might not be the perfect team. I see him as a 6th man in a team with a great defensive guard/small forward player who lacks on offence. A static team who doesnt have a Spree in his roster. A team like San Antonio, who sometimes have black outs in offence. A team like Detroit. One of those two teams should be perfect. Your San Antonio Spurs before they signed Finley, for example, was just perfect. Having Spree starting from the bench and replacing Bowen when you need an offensive guy is something who can make the difference. Something i think Finley will do. But coming off the bench when Kobe and Odom are your SG and SF.. i dont know. They both will play like 40 mins a game, there's no space for Spree. Only way he can contribuite is by playing PG, but i dont see him as a 6th man playing PG. He needs to be aggressive and to shoot at almost every possession. That's Spree at his best. Not a PG.
C'mon man, McKie will fit well in the triangle, probably. But he's far from being the defender we need. He's a solid defender, i'll give you that, but there's no way he can defend one on one on Parker, Iverson, Telfair, Bibby, Billups, etc.. He's a veteran, he has great basketball IQ, but his legs are still old. Watson was fresh, and capable of stopping everybody in defence. I mean everybody. Best defensive PG in the league imo. I was dreaming about Lakers signing them both: lle for McKie and mle for Watson. I'm disappointed.
