Star Trek: Resurrection
« on: October 10, 2005, 05:31:28 PM »

Well, it looks like the Star Trek franchise isn't quite dead yet. Not even a year (hell, it's only been three months) since Enterprise went off the air, a new script has been commissioned by Paramount for a new Star Trek film, entitled Star Trek: The Beginning. According to screenwriter, Erik Jendreson (whose only notable credit is for "Band of Brothers"), the film "would look at the inciting incident that started everything... The story is big and epic, and it isn't as antiseptic as the television stories had to be." The everything Jendreson refers to is the founding of the Federation, and he also says "We're looking at a very small group of men and women, particularly focusing on one character. There are a couple of ships, including a principal ship, but this is not a traditional captain and crew of a starship story in the least." With things so early in development, it's really hard to tell what it'll be like, but hopefully they can breath some new life back into the franchise. Also, I guess this means that there really won't be anymore Next Gen movies anymore. At least for a while. (via Moviehole)

Well I'm a star trek fan, well at least of the "Next Generation" and it would be interesting to see how they close the time line going from the start of the federation and the TV/movie series.

Enterprise sucked. The characters were boring and the storylines were dull.
Being a LAKER is a privilige. Unfortunately some "Lakers" have forgotten that.
