Nas protégé Quan was arrested outside his hotel room yesterday in Hampton, Virginia. After a brief struggle with officers, it is reported that the rapper is now facing several charges...

Officers were called to the scene by someone who smelled marijuana coming from a room that should have been vacated the day prior. When police did arrive, they found four men in the room. One of the men, Quan, born Clifford Ferquan Peacock, of Newport News, let police search the room.

After the first officer on the scene discovered a loaded handgun in the room's refrigerator, Quan then ran out the door and a brief pursuit ensued. When another officer went to assist in apprehending Quan, the other three men escaped.

Quan was soon arrested, and now faces numerous charges including; felony assault, battery on a police officer, and resisting arrest. The officer, claiming he was kicked by the 27 year old rapper, was treated at the scene for a minor leg injury.

In addition to the handgun, police allegedly found two other guns, marijuana, cell phones, and more than $19,000 in cash.

An aspiring rapper, Quan is currently signed to Atlantic Records. The public got its' first taste of Quan, on the track "Just A Moment," from Nas' last album, Street's Disciple.
