An attorney recommended a $4.5 million award Thursday for a Pomona grandmother whose voice was recorded on a rap song without her consent.  
 
Lawyer Neville P. Johnson made the remarks during closing arguments of the suit alleging invasion of privacy and emotional distress brought by 79-year-old Geneva Burger against rap artist Master P, whose real name is Percy Miller.  
 
''Percy Miller is a chicken and he doesn't want to face the music,'' Johnson told jurors in Pomona Superior Court. ''Mrs. Burger sued because she was hurt that they associated her with gangsta rap music.''  
 
Johnson said he calculated the proposed award by estimating 900,000 people heard the song ''No Limit,'' which was not released as a single.  
 
''That's $5 for every humiliation (of Burger),'' Johnson said.  
 
Burger's lawsuit claims she didn't know it when Johnny Lupo, a musician friend of her two grandsons, secretly recorded their late 1997 telephone conversation and her question, ''When people get hooked on pot, can they get sick if they don't get it?''  
 
Her voice became the introduction to ''No Limit,'' the 13th song on artist Magic's 1998 record ''Skys the Limit.'' The song is about marijuana use and Master P was the record's executive producer.  
 
Snoop Doggy Dogg and C-Murder - whose real name is Corey Miller - also sing separate verses on ''No Limit.'' Lupo let Marc D'Andrea of West Covina hear the statement and then De'Andrea - who cleans carpets for Dogg - presented it to Dogg, trial testimony showed.  
 
Dogg, whose true name is Calvin Broadus, thought Burger's statement was funny, according to his May 2000 deposition in the case.  
 
Johnson played part of a November 2000 deposition taken of Master P in which he denied knowing Burger's words were used without her consent.  
 
''What do I have to do with this elderly woman singing on my record?,'' he asked the attorney deposing him.  
 
Johnson said the remark was an example of Master P's arrogance.  
 
Master P's lawyer, Donald K. Wilson, agreed Burger suffered harm and told jurors she should be awarded about $180,000. The costs should be paid primarily by Lupo and D'Andrea, he said.  
 
Miller had no malice toward Burger, knew nothing about the making of the song and was only showing frustration in his deposition, Wilson said.  
 
Dogg, his record company, Dogghouse Records, and Priority Records settled with Burger before trial. Priority was the record's distributor.  
 
Burger, who uses a wheelchair, suffers from high blood pressure and heart problems. The widow has lived in Pomona for 42 years and formerly owned a nursing home in the city.
