Rap World's Interview with Volume 10 November 14, 1998.

Rap World: This is Dtor from Rap World magazine November 14, and were here with Volume 10. How was it on stage tonight?

VOLUME 10: Oh it was good I'm kind of tired but its okay.

Rap World: How long have you been rapping?

VOLUME 10: Since like "81".

Rap World: Is this your first time on stage here at the fox theater?

VOLUME 10: Yeh, it's my first time, but its a live crowd out there tonight. I would definitely do it again.

Rap World: Do you have any other shows coming up in near future?

VOLUME 10: Not right now You know what I'm saying? I'm just basically taking it one show at a time.

Rap World: When is your next album coming out?

VOLUME 10: All I can say is keep an eye out for it. Because its going to be off the hook. My boy Non stop he's in it and y'all going to like him. And just keep an eye out for it.

Rap World: I know you been in this game for a long time, is there any words of encouragement for these other young Rappers that were on stage tonight?

VOLUME 10: Yeah, I definitely saw a lot of talent tonight. That one cat KNVRS he's cool. He caught my eye with his wicked stile and I like that.

Rap World: I know your about to release a new album called Pistol Grip two. Do you expect that one to do as well as the first one?

VOLUME 10: Definitely, like I said its going to be off the hook. I'm coming with something new and I think you're going to like what you hear.

Rap World: We have a lot of readers from other countries and as you know they love Hip-hop and rap. Is there anything you would like to say to the world?

VOLUME 10: Yeah, I definitely got love for all of you I appreciate your support and I hope to see you really soon.

Rap World: Alright thanks a lot for your time Volume 10 keep us posted on the release date of your album.

VOLUME 10: Definitely, I will and thank you Rap World

REVIEW OF HIS MOST FAMOUS TRACK:
Pistol Grip Pump, Volume 10
This gangsta-ish rap from 1994's Hip-Hopera album actually got on the radio enough to make the pop charts, but censorship forced a title change (to just "Pump"). Produced by the Baka Brothers, it roars like N.W.A, which is fitting because this is prime West Coast hip-hop, although the music's based on a theme taken from Roger Troutman's great Midwestern funk group, Zapp. This time, the anthem is devoted to solidarity and the right to self-defense.

What do you guys think of the track Volume 10 did with Roni Size for the Blade II soundtrack, "Raised In The Hood"? I think it was aight, nothing special but worth a listen like.

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.
