Jay is a lyricist...Nelly is a teeny bopper pop star.  And Im dead serious--only 66% of the album sales have been counted and Ashanti is already at like 400,000--its Britney like numbers and a little mind boggling to be honest.

And who's the one bitching about everyone doing comparisons?

I really like Ashanti. Of course, like other people have mentioned, she is not a great singer. Not bad at all, but she's just average, regular, decent-sounding. I don't think she can reach a truly spectacular voice range. But she is very likeable; she's PRETTY, cute, nice image, and backed by Murder Inc's great promotion and Irv Gotti's infectious beats she will sell. For that, I think she's cool & dope, but don't go saying she's the next Whitney, Mariah, or Mary.

Ashanti's great for what she's worth. It's like listening to Nelly for having a good time or partying; you dont go to Nelly looking to listen to lyrics or start thinking deeply.

Ashanti is cute and does have some talent...It's all about marketing though...Murder Inc really promoted her well being on a couple of monster hits by Ja Rule and Fat Joe as well as her own song with the One more chance beat...I mean she does at least write her own music even though it's nothing groundbreaking...Let the girl do her thing...
