WWE.com has just posted that Eddie Guerrero has passed away in his hotel room in Minneapolis.

Guerrero, son of legendary Mexican Wrestler Gory, was found dead in his hotel room where he was resting before a TV Taping later this evening. He was scheduled to wrestle for the World Heavyweight Championship against Batista and Randy Orton.

Eddie, 38 years old, was survived by his wife and two daughters. He wrestled in World Championship Wrestling and Extreme Championship Wrestling before becoming a main stay at World Wrestling Entertainment.

No other news has been released regarding his death.

It was thought that Eddie was going to win the title from Batista as he's due to vanish for some surgery

Eddie was scheduled to wrestle the injured World Heavyweight Champion Batista and Randy Orton in a triple threat match for the title at tonight's SmackDown! tapings. The match was put together as a way to take the title off Batista, who will be having surgery very soon. Guererro was heavily favored to win the title this evening
