The Most Underated Hip Hop Song of the Year (your choices)
« on: December 05, 2005, 04:43:44 PM »
Now when i say most underated, i mean the song that you really felt but the masses seemed to sleep on but if they heard it now they'd understand why you picked that song.  Please don't make this into a My Favorite Artists Best Song On His Disc, Fuck What U Think thread.  I mean pick a song that YOU KNOW would have held its own against other shit based on content, delivery, and lyricsm and explain why.  I'll start it off with my choice= Eminem's YELLOW BRICK ROAD.  To me the song had everything you could have wanted in a song (slick storytelling on some true shit, lyrics to go with an uncanny flow to match, and a beat i'm feeling).  Em answered some questions that needed to be answered on that shit.  That's mine, let me hear what other joints I should have paid attention to this year or if you agree with my choice.  THE FLOOR IS NOW OPEN!!!!!!!!!!!

Master P Ft. Young Buck - Yappin <<<fucking banger i'm surprised this wasn't a single it should've had a video too

Bone Brothers - Hip Hop Baby << should've been more successful

Pastor Troy and Pimp C also should've had singles that got alot of play from their albums

I dunno about song, but I was kinda sad to see Slim Thug's album flop, simply because it's one of the best Southern rap albums I've heard in quite some time, and it was MUCH better than Mike Jones' and Paul Wall's overhyped and over-rated albums.

Kam - I Don't Think So
My favorite song of the year.

Song that should have blown up but didn't:
Sly Boogy - That's My Name
This song had everything to be a hit. It had a catchy beat from Scott Storch, a catchy hook and Sly did a great job balancing between having style and lyricism.
Being a LAKER is a privilige. Unfortunately some "Lakers" have forgotten that.

It came out late last year so you got to count this year as the year for his album.  Also, yall done got off subject- i meant the "Feel It In Ya Bones, I Understand Where That Nigga Comin' From" type of song.  I picked Yellow Brick Road, from the standpoint of i do this hip hop shit so his writin' patterns and storytelling in that song might got applaudin' more than others.

I could've sworn 50 Cent's original "Outta Control" was going to be a huge hit.
