Another veteran with a one year deal. He will play CF and bat second.

Actually we are basically in the same position we were last year.  Any big injury to Drew and Nomar and Gagne....   .500 or below

Joe Sheehan of Baseball Prospectus had this to say regarding Nomar in 1B.

"Let's make this clear: the Dodgers are replacing (Hee Seop) Choi with a player Choi out-hit last season (and posted comparable numbers to in 2004), a player who's likely going to be inferior defensively, who will cost more money, and carry a greater risk of injury and decline. They're getting a more famous person in the deal, one whose aggressive approach at the plate may play better than Choi's disciplined one, but whose edges are all stylistic."


This team relies too much on their BA, they lose on patience and power.  We are gonna have to be extremely lucky.

The situation isnt Choi/Saenz vs Nomar/Saenz.  Nomar is willing to play LF.  Our OF Depth could have been better if Nomar joins the OF and leave 1B alone.  1B wasnt a problem last year, the lack of OF depht was.  The only way possible Nomar is a valueable upgrade to Choi/Saenz is that he has a Nomar 2003 like year but thats definately not worth 8 million dollars.  LF LF LF was the best solution. 



Chemistry in baseball can be had with winning.
