I know there are quite a few Down South rap fans on this forum, and Isee names like Cham, UGK, Lil' Wayne come up . However, I've rarely seen Outkast's name come up. Niow, those guys are legends for sure. I mean, I know many guys don't feel Outkast as much as they used to since Andre started singing on his album and dressing like a fuckin' fag (sorry Dre), but hey, don't forget that everything they did untill "Stankonia" (including) was a straight classic. And Speakerboxx/The Love bellow DID go diamond!! (one of the very few rap albums to do that).
I mean songs like "Liberation", "Jazzy Belle", "Git Up and Git Out", "Ain't No Thang", "Atliens", "Player's Ball" and many more are legendary.
So drop some love on that group, if you are a fan.

FO SHO MAN. Hell yeah I am a Outkast fan. I think alot of people are not talking about them because it has been a minute since they dropped a official album. But yeah they have some classics. One of the most consistent groups of all time IMO
-
yeah im a huge fan of most of their music the old stuff and the later stuff big boi and 3000
-
Got a homie who's a HUGE fan. I haven't heard enough of them 2 be a big fan, but i have loved what i heard. i will be doing their discography soon enough and dropping a thread on here. i'm sure i'll enjoy it quite a bit (no homo)
-
yeah probably the most consistent rap group ever and one of my favs, so many classic songs by Outkast, you should own their whole catalogue
-
I'm a huge Outkast fan. They're my favorite group. I like everything they did except Idlewild (which I'll ignore since it was in part a soundtrack for a crappy ass movie).
Aquemini is easily one in my top 5 if not top 3 favorite albums of all time.

Chonkyfire was the joint off that. One of the illest beats I have ever heard.

Yeah, great track. Return of the G, Spottieottiedopaliscious, Da Art of Storytellin, and Liberation are a few of my favorites, but I can listen to every track without skipping.
-
Outkast is dope. Andre 3000's guest appearence of devin the dude's "what a job" gives me goosebumps everytime i listen to it.

Yeah no filler on that one. I thought it was going to be difficult for them to top ATLiens at the time but they did it. And none of their albums sound like the other. All completely different sounds.

yeah his verse was sick on that

yeh you know, the whole feel to "Spottieottiedopaliscious" is great, the sound of them trumpets in the beat always gets me going.. But for some reason ive always prefered ATLiens > Aquemini..
-
ATLiens was dope as fuck too.
-
I love ATLiens. that shit is classic.
alot of the rest of their stuff is either just [above] average (southernplayalistic + solos) or too weird (stankonia + idlewild). aquemeni was cool, but nothins seein atliens
-
I think ATLiens and Aquemini are on the same level, it just depends on what you prefer more. ATLiens is more of a straight-up hip-hop album. Aquemini is a little more musically diverse.
I can't really think of any hip-hop artists that have produced two albums with completely different sounds that are almost equally great.

n my dream is never comin true.. of them formin a super group with ball n g and ugk.. that woulda been sick.. imagine the lyrical ass whuppin bun, ball n dre would put out and the swagger big boi, pimp c and mjg has...

For real.
"Aquemini" and "ATLiens" are about equal for me, although "Aquemini" is more sentimental because I used to listen to it religiously. "Stankonia" kind of disappointed me, but the albums before it set expectations that were too high. They formed such a good combo, amazing group.

My favorite Outkast track is Elevators (Me & You)

Yeah that was a cold ass beat on there too. I remember my friends used to clown that song when it first dropped.
-
Southern Playalistic caddalic music was the shit that was their best album IMO
-
Andre 3000 = best rapper alive imo
-
big outkast fan, always expect greatness from them.
-
i always thought the beat and instrumental on "funky ride" from southernplayalistic was pretty damn dope
-
Great to see so many members that can appreciate good and quality rap. Much respect to anyone who posted on this thread. I always said that this is the best forum to post on. A lot of real hip hop fans, while the West Coast forum is full of kids that are only on DPG's dick and haven't heard anything past the 90's Death Row era.
-
co-signin' err'body postin in here...outkast r simply the shit!

If he did more of that on The Love Below, it could of been classic.
-
^^^ Yeah, this shit is incredible. People forget what a tight MC Dre is sometimes, because of his new found "persona"... He rarely spits it like this though, these days... Hopefully there'll be more of it on the next Outkast album and (much) less singing.
-
Yes, one of the all time greatest right there.
-
My fav group ever, I'm one of that fans who buys their cds with my eyes closed. They took hip-hop to another level and managed to reinvent their style on every album they dropped, but always keeping that funky/electro sounds... it's amazing. My fav song will always be "Da art of storytellin' part I", classic tune...
P.S. For those who like the "Funkyride" sounds, go get Sleepy Brown's "Vynil Room" and Society of Soul's "Brainchild"... two of the best soul/r'n'b albums I ever listened to. If you got love for Outkast you MUST love Sleepy too, his vocals on their songs is like the icing on the cake!
-
Outkast? Who are they?
-
gotta love outkast always come different but still make great albums. andre 3000 is a lyrical beast....anyone heard any of his mixtapes? my homie said he was mad lyrical on them but i have never found any

I agree with you that this forum is one of the best to post on but I have to say don't go dissing the Westcoast forum. I think that is one of the best forums on the net to discuss Westcoast rap.

I haven't listened to much of the newer albums by Outkast but ATLiens was the shit!!! I bumped the hell out of that album and it's my favorite from them. I remember listening to Aquameni but didn't really get into it much and I can't honestly say I listened to many other albums of theirs because they never seemed to be as good as ATLiens to me.

Yeah I post on the WC forum and I can appreciate all forms of hip hop. I am a fan of the music first and foremost. But what did you guys think of their 1st album? I still bump that one from time to time, that was a good one too.
-
Man if you don't respect Outkast then you shouldnt be listening to hip hop, thats a law. Thats probably why you dont see them in peoples names cause 90% people feel them. Outkast got so much dope shit
