this title. ::)
-
Some if beats sound nasty. Not gonna lie the vid kinda hyped me up. The Samsung giveaway is kinda meh. Corporate BS. Not sure about the name, but if the music speaks I'm down. He's about due for a dope album, seeing as I wasn't really diggin his last 3.
-
Some of those beats sounded dope...def heard Pharrel prod, timbaland, and Rick Rubin in there (obv they were shown there too)
I'll check it out but won't be buying it.
-
weird title but i like what i heard from this video!
-
based off the instrumentals heard (especially @1:33) this album could be incredible although i'm not a fan of jay z over the southern soundin' joints.
-
Can't wait.
-
is this a real studio album or some advertising gimmick
-
A lot of talent in that room. Beats sounds fresh. Can 98 Hov rap over them, cause I damn sure haven't been impressed with anything Jay has dropped in the last 8 years.
-
jay z looks SO damn old lmao
-
Ridiculous album title.
Beats sounds fresh though.
I hear the record sold "platinum" already, even before it's on sale, apparently Samsung paid $5 a pop for 1 million albums, to give away to Galaxy users.. interesting marketing plan.
-
Smart move if you ask me! Jigga knows what's up

shaping up to be a good year

Pretty much everything he's done since the black album has been some sort of gimmick. Hell I remember when the black album dropped there was a handheld gaming system called NGAGE that came pre-loaded with the black album. That system failed within months. He wrote a song for a Budweiser commercial and made that a single (which was really corny), then he did that album soundtrack for American gangster used to hype the movie etc.

on point, +1

It's a studio album. It's probably going to be dope too; production team is crazy. The only gimmick is linking up with Samsung, but that just lead him to go platinum four days after announcing it...lol.

Production sounded sick. I'm hoping its at least listenable once you add the vocal

It seems as if Jay-Z was listening to quite a bit ’90s rock while recording his new solo album, Magna Carta Holy Grail. We already told you about the song “Holy Grail”, which references lyrics from Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” (per the approval of Courtney Love). Now, Jay-Z has shared the lyrics to “Heaven” and this time, it’s R.E.M. receiving love (and a big ol’ royalty check). The song’s chorus pulls from R.E.M.’s “Losing My Religion” (“That’s Me in the corner / That’s me in the spotlight / Losing my religion”), as you can see below:

Jiggaman is such a douche. I personally will not bootleg the album, however if anyone's album deserves it it's this cocksucker.
-
Btw, that part in the clip where that hella dope beat is just about drop, and they "blow a speaker" was totally staged.

The artwork for Jay-Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail displayed next to the real Magna Carta
(http://d3c1jucybpy4ua.cloudfront.net/data/17517/feature/jay-z-magna.jpeg?1372859049)
There is no limit to the power of Jay-Z when combined with Samsung.
Visitors to the Salisbury Cathedral in the United Kingdom making the trek to lay their eyes upon the Magna Carta, described as "the greatest constitutional document of all time," get an added bonus. Displayed to the right of the historic charter is none other but the recently revealed cover art for Magna Carta Holy Grail, the forthcoming Jay-Z record.
No doubt a marketing coup inspired by Hov's ability to force a change upon the platinum grip of the RIAA ratings of album sales (because when you're Jay-Z it's the principle that counts), the artwork will be on display for the entire month of July, just enough time for kids to remember Jigga, Earl of Brooklyn, as one of the document's creators.
Magna Carta Holy Grail will be available to Samsung smartphone owners July 4 at 12:01am, while the rest of us have to wait for the global release July 9.

why was rick rubin in that video when he has nothing to do with this album ???
-
another trash album by gay z
he should just release a cd of scrapped 90s songs of his when he flowed better
-

-
dope on first listen, shame that Versus and Beach is Better are so short. it has few weak tracks but def better than Blueprint 3 and Pharrell's beats are top, good to see Timbaland got into hip-hop again
-
why was rick rubin in that video when he has nothing to do with this album ???
I'm sure he provided direction etc., even if not credited as a producer for a song.
-
I think i'd rather listen to jay's older albums.
