I just got the network adaptor yesterday and I must say at first it was weird because my ethernet cord was messed up so a connection couldn't be made, but once I change cords, wow... it's a breeze and so much fun....SOCOM ROCKS!! and Madden 2003... wow... I played this dude in florida... yea florida..... and I live in Wisconsin and well.... no lag at all... every now and then you would see a quick jump... but nothing too distracting where you would lose control of it... and its fun...at night, you see more jumps on screen cause everyone is on, but im sure problems like that can be fixed and well... its awesome, simply awesome... I LOVE THIS ONLINE ADDITION... if you're wondering how I got the Network adaptor, I reserved it at funcoland and recieved it yesterday... also... best buy has it in their AD's today, but most of them have sold out... at least here in wisconsin they have... check ebay for them... but in a few months, you'll be able to find it....... and if you want to play me in Madden or Socom, my name is "Big BpG"

damn...i want this shit now...
-
i'm hoping it jumped with 56k and not broadband...
-
if you have a 56k, you can play online with the ps2.. however some games, like Socom, only allow broadband, and you might see more of that in the future... in madden you can play with a 56k and it's easy to see who has a 56k.... because it allows you to see users connections..

if u got 56k i wouldnt even bother with madden, sports games with 56k=better to play with a friend offline
the only 56k games that ive played that werent ruined by lag are PSO and Outtrigger for dreamcast
-
I agree nilla.... if someone with a 56k connection wants to play... i say... NO way....

heres a list of problems a lot of ppl are having with ps2 online according to a lot of ppl on IGN
1. There is a list of console serial numbers that will not work with the network adapter. If you have one of these consoles contact tech support (not good and how come this wasn’t known earlier and why was the public not notified before they bought their NA)
2. There is an apparent t problem with the AOL DSL and other ISP’s that do not work with the NA.
3. There are connection problems galore.
4. There are lag problems being reported by some users and there are enough people reporting it to take it seriously.
5. The majority of the problems seems to be with Socom although there have been reports of problems playing with Madden (lag mostly)
6. There have been reports of the headset not working or working intermittently.
and there are ALREADY cheaters in socom, thats gonna ruin the online aspect of the game big time

As for some consoles not working... all the serial numbers included in the handbook are import ps2s... so the US version of the N/A isn't going to work for their systems... as for problems with lag... I've had a little, but I'm sure right now, Sony is basically using us as guinea pigs .... seeing how things hold up... servers have gone down and such, but when they come back up they run a lot smoother, showing us ps2 users that maybe their fixing problems they've noticed... socom had a lot of lag problems yesterday, today virtuall gone... the headset is cool, you can hear your players real well... i think it will take time to make it work perfectly... Gamecube and Xbox will surely have their own problems too... all about trial and error... time to play madden online now!

didnt sony have a beta testing period??
xbox beta testing is goin on right now and there havent been any problems at all
-
Yea Sony Beta Tested, but it's really up to the developers... EA did some great BETA testing and Madden has never crashed, how socom has.... but that's fixed now
