I'm not surprised
-
that's good news, now there's a lot more chance that he can put out a 3rd album :)
-
Well best of luck to him. Like Dre said now he can get his material release without the Gustapo in his way. (Interscope)
-
Can't say i'm surprised either. Em has fucked up there.
-

i am glad to hear this!

I hope he doesn't start dissing em, he did help him put 2 albums out and also released him from his contract, where as he could of just been sat on the shelf for the next 10 years doing nothing.
-
Obie fell off. I wasnt feelin his last album. Hope his next album is as good as the first.
-
Good news for Obie...hope to hear the new album soon 8)

he probably wanted to drop and they were holdin him back. so they probably just went there seperate ways. no beef.
-
hope he can get dope production for his next cd.... hes a dope mc

yea and sounds better with the right production behind him.

i wouldnt say that, obie is dope and i anticipate his work but he barley went platinum when shady records/interscope were at the top.
Business wise prob not a bad move by shady and musically a good move by obie.

as does everyone.
really, obie's first album was only as good as it was because of the budget/beats. Em fucked up by not signing Royce... just imagine him over those tracks.
-
who cares? he sucks anyways

Yer but who else does he have on his label? D-12 :-\ plus Stat Quo, Bobby Creekwater, Cashis all with no albums. And lets be honest how many people are gonna buy their albums? Obie was the only artist that had a chance of selling a few records.

You suck.

WORD! obie is DOPE! doesnt matter if he doesnt sell records, this guy still puts out that goood shit! 8)

Too bad, Obie came off correct under Shady. But Interscope is fuckin' up constantly, can't blame him for leaving. All the music their artists produce should fit into their little nice jell-o mold, no room for creativity.
-
It's good cause Em destroyed Obie's second album with alot of wack productions!
-
lmao its fucking 2008
> shady records

if anything, it has opened the door for new ideas because that "interscope-mold" has brought nothing but monotony not only to him, but everything else. i think it's the smartest thing he's done since giving Em his demo. Technically, he hasn't burned any bridges with shady-aftermath so if he wanted to do a collab with them, he still could. All the best to you Obie!
