Em fell the fuck off but this is my favorite Eminem song ever, fuckin classic track.
-
His flow was so awesome on that song, the standout track on album because it was partyish where the rest of the album was about killing sluts ;V
-
Classic song from a classic album. And one bad solo album doesn't mean "falling off".
-
"cuz every time i go to try to leave, some geeks pullin on my sleeve, i dont wanna but i gotta stay...these drugs really got a hold of me"
-
^ Geeks? :P
I never knew that's what he said. LMAO. :-\
-
Back when Mark Walhberg was Marky Mark
This is how we used to make the party start
We used to mix Hen' with Bacardi Dark
And when it, kicks in you can hardly talk
And by the, sixth gin you're gonna probably crawl
And you'll be, sick then and you'll probably barf
And my pre-diction is you're gonna probably fall
Either somewhere in the lobby or the hallway wall
And everything's spinning
You're beginin' to think women
are swimming in pink linen again in the sink
Then in a couple of minutes that bottle of Guinness is finished
You are now allowed to officially slap bitches
The begginning of this song is absolutely sick...I always get this stuck in my head, I dont even gotta hear the song and Ill find my self sayin it...especcially the highlited party. The flow and the way he rhymes it all is so nice.
Thanks alot now its gonna be stuck in my head all day...

yea Eminem was dope
after MMLP he just got really old and played out and sellout-ish
I was listening to "Dont Approach Me" off Xzibit's album, that's like 1999 Eminem right there, good shit

while I also don't like eminem show as much as mm and ss, to deny that eminem rips things to pieces in eminem show I think would be inaccurate.

word +1
just sayin, I didn't find him to be sell outish until encore. To me what's deteriorated the quality of his records to me is that he likes to produce for himself so much when he probably has access to much better producers. eminem seriously, as a producer, is just dre without Funk. and what's the fun in that?
and played out? yeah, maybe it's because i don't listen to radio/watch TV (another reason it was so easy to fall out of rap for the years that I did) but nothing ever gets played out to me unless I play it out.

I think TES was Em's best album and his last good album.. to me he had so much energy and emotion in that album.. more than his earlier ones. I think Encore is when he sold out and did some corny ass songs.
I also agree with Tanj that nothing is played out unless I play it out because I really don't listen to the radio or watch MTV or anything.

his rapping was amazing on TES but the songs as whole pieces just don't do it for me. like for example, I'm sure he rips soldier up, but I haven't listened to that song since I bought the record.

classic track !

Em has always released corny ass singles from his albums. My Name Is, The Real Slim Shady, Without Me, Just Lose It, Ass Like That, Purple Pills and My Band are all :puke:
-
Dope track, he was one of my favorites until encore :puke:

i think people made them that way. TRSS and My Name Is were dope ass songs, the radio and TV/fans killed them. I listen to them now years later after not hearing them for awhile and they are classic. shit, even my band purple pills are cool. ass like that is eh, but it should have been better. i don't understand what they were going for with just lose it.

i think big jimmy at interscope was the reason behind those songs
-
i read on wikipedia that dre doesn't even own aftermath anymore, that he's more of a figurehead type there now and owns like a little stock in it, this would explain why Jimmy has final say on everything.

My Name Is and TRRS are both dope songs to me, dre brought that heat and eminem's rhymes are mad original and funny to me. but that's cool that you don't like them.

i haven't liked Eminem since MMLP

and if you think he put _any_ effort at all into Encore, you should probably /quit listening to hiphop
-
the dope tracks are dope -encore, never enough
he raps tight on yellow brick road
evil deeds and rainman are enjoyable if not up to his standards.
the rest is weak
that's all that can really be said about the record to me
wasn't defending encore or saying em tried on it, just saying Em will eat your stomach lining, nahmean?

my favourite album by eminem is def the marshall mathers lp. encore sucked dirrty balls.

I browsed quick trough wikipedia (aftermath and jimmy) didn't find this info, link me.
YOU GOT TO FIX YOUR KARMA DUDE
perhaps someone changed the article on wikipedia (for example, the quote of scott storch talking about dre needed him on 2001, was not there last time I read it) BUT it does say this:
"Dr. Dre has been a regular on Rolling Stone Magazine's Annual 50 Richest Rock Stars list since its first installment in 2001. In 2001 he earned $51.9 million U.S., including $35 million from the sale of 30% of his share of Aftermath records to parent label Interscope." I suppose a 30% shareholder still can be the CEO and have a huge input....But damn...I coulda sworn I read something that implied Dre having way less control over the label now than in 1996
I'll go diggin', be back later.
and yeah it'd be cool to fix my karma prop me. peace
