I'm a gym rat too but ain't nothing wrong with having a drink once in a while (I don't drink beer though). Same goes for candy or fast food. You've gotta spoil yourself once in a while because if you don't you'll start hating the whole gym regime. Weed on the other hand hurts more than alcohol.

BTW ironically the worst thing when you get fit is the drinking. I've gained like 30 kilos in 3 years, so I weigh 100 kilos now and I have to drink soooooooo much alcohol to get wasted.

BTW if you're a sucka for chocolate or something like that, here's a little trick. Eat that stuff before you go running, to the gym or playing football. You will burn the calories quick and it gives you some energy.

The thing about drinking is that you usually have a period or periods of heavy drinking before you find that point of moderation. I am not staying there aren't people that can go their whole lives living in complete moderation though. Most drinkers in my opinion learn moderation the difficult (and somewhat fun) way.

Just opening my first of probably 3 or 4 "good night" beers. I´ve got so used to drinking the last 7-8 years, I guess I drink daily. "Only" beer though and not that I´m wasted everyday but still. I wouldn´t want to stop just for training. I´m really out of shape too and I partially blame it on the beer but I wouldn´t give up drinking beer just for training. I rather hit the gym more often just to compensate for it. Like someone said on the first page, it´s not the best thing to stop doing alcohol or candy or fastfood or any of that cause it´s good to reward yourself. You´ll probably get faster results but getting rid of everything nice in life to lose weight sucks. ;)
