Listen to Paid In Full, Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back, Death Certificate, Black Star, Illmatic, 36 Chambers, Straight Outta Compton, Capital Punishment, Internal Affairs, Resurrection, etc.... These are all hip-hop CD's better than Doggystyle which I listed of the top of my head.

actually though,doggystyle is better than those big pun albums and blackstar,but then again,if you are only15 ,16 years old,you probably wouldn't think that pe,nwa,or anything from before the 90's is worth considering classic.I think that snoop is better as a personality,because lyricwise I wouldn't rate him too high.

Blacks Star is far from a perfect album.. Internal Affairs..? please.. I know Pharoahe is better than Snoop but this album is not even close to Doggystyle

When I consider GOAT, I have to consider more than just talent and writing ability, you have to consider the impact they made, their charisma, style, lyrical ability, etc. and then weigh all that in together.
I'd say Doggystyle is the greatest Rap album ever, but you can make arguments for a few others.
I wouldn't put Snoop as the best ever, even though he's my favorite. I'd say he's top 5, though. My G.O.A.T. would be Biggie. Even though he only did 2 albums, he had it all, the entire package. Unbelievable flow, great lyrical ability, incredible charisma, style, he was the real deal.
Guys like Pharoahe Monch are much more talented that Snoop, etc. but they aren't anywhere near his steez on a charisma, style, or just influential or star-power level. G.O.A.T. has to take in all these aspects, not just who could rap the best.
If you were trying to find the greatest lyricist ever, you'd never find him, becuase it would be somebody you'd never heard of writing shit in his mom's basement. If the guy was TRULY the G.O.A.T., though, eventually he would rise to the top... Pharoahe Monche hasn't made it to the top yet, so I gotta question his GOAT status.

I wouldn't consider Snoop GOAT, but his DoggyStyle album is a definate classic and has influenced many, no one can argue w/ that! Funny some1 mentioning that he fell off, and that they'd rather listen to Illmatic & 36 Chambers, both NaS & the Wu fell the fuck off........NaS redeemed himself though w/ StillMatic. Pity about the Wu, if only they can bring back some of that ol' magic. All Snoop needs to do is get back w/ 'Dre & stop fucking w/ the Neptunes & steer clear of Lil Jon.

Chill people, you know the level of seriousness when Snoop is hailed as the greatest of all time, and "Internal Affairs" is labeled as whack in the same thread..
On the same note, I would like to launch Jae Kwon as the grimiest rapper of all time, P.Diddy as 2nd best rapper of all time after Snoop, and also, 2Pac as "biggest Ja Rule biter ever".

Snoop's my favourite rapper, but I can't say he's the GOAT with a straight face. That being said, in my opinion he's still one of the best to do it. What he lacks in lyrics he makes up for with flow and delivery, which a lot of these lyrical rappers are seriously lacking. I don't care what your saying, if you don't sound good saying it, I'm gonna stop listening. I think that one of snoop's strengths, no matter what he's saying he almost always sounds good doin it. Basically, he's top 10 for me at least

Snoop has a hella tight flow as he has shown many times in the past. Hell even some of his latest collabarations are tight but to say he is the greatest ever is a stretch.

no matter who u call the greatest, some1 is always gonna disagree. but calling snoop the g.o.a.t.....i think most people disagree. he's right up there tho. he failed to keep his career consistent. u never know what his albums will sound like. unlike gangstarr....now theyre great. every album bangs and consistent too.

Where is Snoop rank, well not at number one, but he is in the top 10. Snoop is like many tight rappers with great careers, you know someone out there is better, but it doesn't matter because what he brings is still great. Every time there's a GOAT conversation, Snoop has a shot of being brought up. It's rappers like a Snoop, Method Man, Redman, Ice Cube, Jay-Z, Big Daddy Kane, Nas, Eminem, Scarface, Run DMC, LL Cool J, that keep rap going. Yeah, rappers like Biggie, 2Pac, KRS-One, Rakim, they shine like no one else, and all of them are the main rappers when talking about GOAT, but just because they outshine everyone else, doesn't mean the rest are wack. Now talking about rappers that never deserve their shots, like a Nelly, Vanilla Ice, then you can talk, but the rest are the reason hip-hop is sucessful. Forget who's GOAT, you don't have the great westcoast sales in the early 90's without Snoop. Snoop help lanch the careers of Warren G, Nate Dogg, Daz, Kurupt, Tha Eastsidaz, and others. Say what you will, no one can ever denie Snoop his place in the top 10, no one can ever denie Snoop has had one of the greatest careers, had a great influence, and still is pulling strings like a don.
