Title: It's a gay-thang...
Post by: smegma on February 19, 2008, 10:11:36 AM
...in a non-homosexual way.

Where is the Butch Cassidy mixtape?
Ok ok, I admit that I don't really care about Butch' mixtape as it probably won't feature any new song, but still...

Wasn't Warzone supposed to drop this week?
Warzone consists of three more than decent rappers. I expect them to drop nothing but heat.

Where did Bishop Lamont's "Nigger Noize" untagged go?
Bishop Lamont's so called re-release of "Who I Gotta Kill" was zoosexual. What is holding him back to release a DJ Skee-free version of "Nigger Noize"?

Whatever happened to the untagged version of Terrace Martin's masterpiece called "Signal Flow"?
It's a crime that this still has not been put out. Not putting that out is worse than the "chea beah" words.

none of this stuff is being held up by us, everything is coming and we keep on the artists and producers often to get all these things as soon as possible. all of it will come eventually but its at the artists discretion and why that can't be respected and accepted is beyond me.

as far as i know, it was promised to be released in february. could be wrong, but it's not march yet.

i hate broken promises too, but some things just can't be predicted.

edit: on a side note, would be great if bishop could update us about the status of calitroit metroplis though.

Don't get me wrong, I never said this was held up by you :P

We (the fans) just wanna know when something comes out. These are only mixtapes; you can't check amazon.com for the release dates. We have to go by what we read on myspace and on forums, so if they say a date we kinda expect them to drop it on or close to that date.

...and about the untagged versions of those two mixtapes... They're street albums and the DJ's (DJ Skee in this case) mess it up. It's fucked up that you actually support that. Seriously.

Oh well. Some people are never happy. I don't care if DJ Skee has some drops on a mixtape, I still bump it. Its a mixtape, its expected. I laugh when you guys are crying about DJs putting their stamps on Mixtapes.

First quarter still sucks hard ... fortunately Snoop album is comin ... Bishop seems to have dissapeared since the Pop Mobile tape whereas he was very active before that ... on the way to be another Hittman , sad but true ...

there was a huge gap between nigger noize and calitroit too, so i don't see why you're immediately jumping to a conclusion.

it's not even two months ago since the pope mobile

^^^^ there were 2 months and Bishop was doing mad interviews, talking about the 1st single, Feel on it remix ... he pushed back a street album which songs have been already made for a quite while ...

as i've said before, calitroit was pushed back a few times as well.

ok it's been 3 weeks since the promised release date, but there is still a strong possiblity that calitroit metropolis drops soon(could be before the end of the month or in march i don't know).
it's a street album after all, so i can only imagine that new guest features could delay it a bit.

so when it drops, i'm sure there will be at least one interview( http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/index.php?topic=169936.0 )
the next one is...bishop lamont :o :o

i wasn't even talking about the single, as i see your concerns for the reformation, but for me, the situation isn't any different now in compared to 2 months ago.
i was a bit disappointed too that he didn't release the feel on it remix, or some other new track on the 31st of january ( as a replacement for calitroit metropolis). but it's not like he's hiding in the closet ( he was featured on a song from Dedicated, and i'm sure he will be featured on more songs; dedicated will drop in march).
so again, no need to jump to a conclusion. Bishop has been having a tough time since he signed to aftermath, so the chance of becoming another hittman was already present.

Dubcnn: Are you or were you ever afraid of becoming another Hittman?

How would I become a Hittman?

Dubcnn: I'm asking you! Were you ever afraid of being on Aftermath and having trouble getting your record out?

Why would you be afraid if you're a hustler? Was 50 afraid? Was Eminem afraid? You see what I'm saying? It's about the individual. Before I got the deal with Dre I was already on the radio with 4 singles. I already had video games, already had mixtapes, fame in the streets, I was already self contained. So combining myself with Dre just amplifies my whole situation. People always try to coin the term of getting shelved or whatever with Hittman. Hittman was doing his thing! I can't really speak deeply on that situation, but at the end of the day it was just about creative differences, and the level of what Hittman wanted to take the music to. That wasn't a picture of what Aftermath had envisioned for him, I can say that easily. Hittman is doper than what people know. So you can't even use that coin phrase "becoming a Hittman". Hittman is still dope and Hittman is still getting royalty checks off Chronic 2001 and some other stuff, that other niggas will never see! How about that? *laughs* Really though!

Bishops far from becoming another Hittman, dudes put out 3 street albums with top notch producers in a span of 1 year (not no rapping over other rappers beats), dude actually "does" interviews (something hittman rarely seemed to do), all hittman gave us was that "Jackin 4 Heat" mixtape and that shit aint nothin compared to what bishops given us so far.

^^^^ I was just calling him "another Hittman" coz he may not release an album .. I don't hate, I'm a big Bishop fan, I like his music, his approach of the game, funny dude .. the thing that "scares" me the most is , unlike others, he seems to understand what it takes to have a shot at releasing an album under the Math i.e being patient, creating a buzz by droppin street albums ect ... BUT still far away from releasing his lp ..

oh yeah i think we on the same page.

i never thought you were a hater, i just thought it wasn't so smart to immediately jump to a conclusion  ;)

and what i was trying to say, Bishop's mission to release an album through interscope hasn't become any harder in compared to a few months ago i think.

on the way to be another Hittman , sad but true ...

I never expected him to be anything more. Which is a sad thing. Hopefully we'll ever get to hear "I dominate", but I doubt that song actually exists.

After reading the new Dubcnn interview Bishop is indeed on the way on becoming another Hittman. He signed in like late 2005 which means his window of getitng released closes in 09 (that's how it usually is with Aftemath). And with Detox now dropping first the chances are even smaller unless it's released like 2 months after Detox drops.

I mean in 09 most of the songs will probably sound dated, the video for I Dominate was already shoot in 07, there's no way they're still gonna use it in 09. The sad thing is Bishop is actually doing everything to keep his name in the public's eye unlike the other Aftermath artists that got dropped before or will get dropped (Stat Quo).

as i was saying in my previous post, didn't we already have this theory that it would be nearly impossible for Bishop to release his album on interscope?

the interview just confirmed the theory  ;)

I dont think Detox will drop either. Aftermath is pretty much over with.
