Yeah. I love that song, I was shocked to find out that it wasn't Sean Kingston.
Man J.R. Rotem is too fuckin underrated. This shit is soundin dope except theres one lil annoying reoccurring sound in the beat.
-
This shit slaps!!!! dont sleep people

This is wack. He completely copied Mark Morrison's original song. I can see using the beat, J.R. Rotem is a great producer, but the concept is exactly the same. Come with a different concept or it's basically biting or just a cover track. And if it's gonna be a cover track like this is, he should at least shoutout Mark Morrison on the track. Not original at all.

Uses The Verses From His Song "Stunna Shades"

That's a banger, I'd like to hear more songs like this!
Edit: Actually I think it's Funky Worm by the Ohio Players
-
Nice. Thanx for the link.
-
I like the beat 8)
-
Banging music, Nip Hussle's South Central State Of Mind --> MY MOST AWAITED RECORD OF 2010 8)
-
nice remake 8)
but return of the 'SWAG'? really not neccesary...
-
Damn the track could be great, but they failed miserably on the hook....
-
Hussle music my nigga.....can't believe yo flipped this shit
-
this is dope b ut the shoulda kept it the same with "return of the mack" not "swag" :P fuck swag!!
-
you know...after a few listens...the hook has gotten pretty gay...i dont like the voice...it needs someone more commanding like morrison himself..and swag..nah not cool...
-
What's all the fuss about Iyaz? Who's paying for Nipsey to get a beat from JR?
-
this is slaaaaaaaaaammin :o 8)
-

Yeah it's all good untill that hook.
People outside of the UK have a VERY different opinion of Mark Morrison.
-
I think the beat is tight, a good remake of the original with a nice classic west coast feel to it which I personally think we need more of. Nipsey sounds good over the track but I agree with what some of you have already said; the hook is a little too soft and the word "swag" has been kicked around way to much already so it just doesn't sit right with me to have it as part of the hook. But over all the song is dope, hopefully the album also has that traditional west coast vibe (with a 2010 twist of course) and doesn't sound like it's a little bit of everything, trying to be trendy to please everyone (radio Hip Pop clubby s#!t, South sounding, has Auto Tune on hooks, etc.) specially if your gonna call it "South Central State Of Mind".
-

it honestly takes a lot away from the song
-
Damn the track could be great, but they failed miserably on the hook....
Exactly. The remade beat is fire, Nipsey is fire, then that dude sings the hook and it ruins it. It's not that he's using auto tune so much as I just don't think this guys voice fits at all with the track. If you're gonna remake such a classic then do it justice.
-
it doesnt even matter how good the rapping is, they fucked the hook up way too bad for it to even make a difference
-
They should have tried to use the original hook but I don't think it's that bad.
-
i'm guessing this ain't the mastered version right ? the volume seem a little low
-
man i remember an oldschool westcoast track that sampled the same song.
it had the basically the same hoook return of the mack but i think it was the actual singer.
anybody remember the name? i have it in my comp sum where but i forgot the song name n who made it.
-
my god i cant find that song and its driving me crazy.
i have a feeling its a snoop or sugafree, dpg, bo-roc, of some sort but i might be wrong it also could of been from G-funk volume tracks in the hookup section
-
So is this Nipsey's new single?
-
looks like hes doing a music video for this according to

You consider Baccstabers from Daz's RAW album an "OLD SCHOOL" track? that was 1999... how old are you fam?
Old School to me is Run DMC, Melle Mel etc.
-
damn this is pretty bad
-
dope track, had it on repeat for the week... they could have just said "mack" instead of "swag" in the hook that's about it, other than that the song is dope 8)

lol of course its considered old school, its fucking over 10 years old. yea that shit is consisdered old school also. it certaintly aint new.
so you dont consider shaq, hill, kurt thomas, etc etc old school?
run dmc, ice-t, old school ll, they have their own genre too me which is old school. but i aint even usin the term like that, that shit is just old school, 11 fucking years old,
so form your perspective, run dmc wasnt old school till it was officaly 15 years old or such, so when it was 11 years old back then it wasnt considered old school?
your pride shows your ignorance, u aint cool because u listen to old school shit kid.
-
damn this is pretty bad
exactly...JR tweaked the beat pretty good, but that's the only decent thing about this track. The OG is a classic, and a great song to jam when you're looking to get back at a chick for shit she did.
I'd much rather be bumping this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twgArtVqMlM
