That was like his third fight and you see what happens when he fights competition with some kind of credibility, he damn near los towards the end of the second round.  Tito Ortiz was spot on with what he said about him

didn't think the fight should have been stopped. thompson was rockin but he was still offensive, and seemed awake and aware of what was going on around him.

MMA fighters need to step their condition game up.
They are Huffing & Puffing after only 5 mins (1 round)

Kimbo was expossed, limited power & very lil' punching ability
he looked awkward and very off balace when throwing shot's.
He will lose his next fight.

The fight shoulda been over at the end of the 2nd round, Thompson had him in a perfect spot, if he woulda put more power into his shots..

The Lawler-Smith fight was dope, Smith was gettin handled in the 1st round then came back in the 2nd, dont think that fight shoulda been stopped either.

It was nice to see Baroni get knocked out again, I never liked him..

Joey V's win over Baroni was the fight of the night.
Proving once again that "Striker's Rule" MMA.
(Even tho Phil is himself a dangerous striker, he wanted to G&P)

Lawler is my dude, always one of fav's
They need to as Robbie said "Re-run"

On a side note, MMA should really look into having Kimbo shave that beard!!!
IMO, it helped him get out some G.Chokes (Even tho I think dude tapped out)
As fast as MMA fights are stopped, I'm very surprised that the Kimbo fight went past that 2nd round
when Thompson had Slice against the fence droppin' 'Bow's on him, Normally would have been stopped.
I mean they stopped a fight because of a pinky in the eye....lol

Black eye, for MMA last night.
on what was to be one of it's biggest night's.
(D.White has a huge  ;D right now, UFC would not have put on that debacle)

Stick to Boxing Gary...

He didn't look like anybody was home to me. He was out on his feet and couldn't defend himself. Thats why he threw one at the ref cause he wasn't all there anymore. Dude got a hell of a chin to stay standing after that abuse though. Kimbo's lack of a ground game was exposed but you can bet he's gonna work on that.

this fight was RIGGED!

Kimbo should've lost in the second...you could tell the Ref was on Kimbo's side...everyone who saw the fight knew it.

i was a kimbo fan going in...but after that second round where kimbo did nothing to defend himself...i knew something was up

I really don't think so. I wouldn't call myself a Kimbo fan. This was only the first time I've seen him fight and my mind wasn't blown by him. he certainly didn't live up to all the hype about him I keep hearing, but I really don't think it was rigged. When he was stuck on the ground in the 2nd, Thompson may have been scoring but he definitely wasn't doing any damage. He was clearly exhausted (bad cardio conditioning), and it seemed like the reason he didn't do much work at the end of the 2nd because he knew Thompson wasn't going to hurt him and he wanted to get some extra rest. I think the ref calling the fight was more of an act of mercy on Thompson than anything else. Imagine what would have happened to him if he would've allowed Kimbo to continue to put hands on him like that.

I thought the Kimbo fight was alright. You knew going in that he didn't have ground experience and that was his weakness. The whole question was whether Thompson could take a shot and take Kimbo to the ground, in which he did. And Kimbo did ok for not having ground experience.

To me though.... the chicks stole the show. NOW THAT was a fight.

Are you fuckin kidding me? Did you see what kinda blows he was able to endure? Not to mention, those great counters. He was able to last on the ground. Come on, man... He handled his shit against one of the EliteXC's best. He knows he has a lot to learn, but right now, he's still a fuckin beast...PeACe

Naah...that's one of Kimbo's strengths. He can take blows like no other. I think he trains to strengthen his skull like a Shaolin Monk.

both fighters looked sloppy after first round. The fight was stopped too early imo, hopefully kimbo will learn alot from this fight(hes only fight going to 2'nd round) and step hes game up, hes gonna have to.

btw look at this clip with james thompson, one of the best staredowns ever lol..and the fight..oh well lol:

I don't think it would be that hilarious if he did it. Skull strengthening isn't uncommon and many fighters do it. Kimbo trains his ass off, and for someone who's relatively new to MMA, he's a beast. The fact that you laugh at a common martial art practice is the only joke I see.
