This is crazy. I'm really impressed and they definitely delivered and lived up to their potential. I can't believe so much of this was made several years ago.

I've heard enough songs off this album and been waiting long enough that I can justify buying it without previewing it any further.

aside from a few tracks sounding dated, great album overall 8)
picking this one up for sure
-
This is too good, classic in my eyes, some wont agree im sure but to me this album was worth the wait. Does anyone know if that "great" track will surface in mp3, i dont think its any of the bonus songs either!! :-\
-
its great! 4.0 or 4.5 outta 5....
but im very sure it couldve been better at another time... tracks come from so many different years, that it feels like a sampler... the mixing is very different, doesnt feel like being made in one run... and the mastering failed also. its not on par with modern masterpiece albums...
dont ghet me wrong, im just saying, there was way more potential! .... BUT STILL.. saigon is fucking great! and the album is outstanding to the other shit! most definately. ill buy a copy for sure!
been a fan ever since 50cent vs. saigon came out..
and i hope this album pushs hims omehow to get himslef in a better position that he can release a proper album! with the whole machinery behind him
-
The album sounds outdated. He also gets out shined by Just Blaze and his hook game is kinda average. I guess the expectations after all these years got the best of me....
-
This album is dope. Loving the Just Blaze production. I have to give it a better listen, but the first run through its pretty well done.
-
So this myth finally comes true..
-
So this myth finally comes true..
Hopefully it sets the standard for other "mythical" albums like Dre & Crooked I's lol.
-
I have to admit im kinda dissapointed
-
Can someone hook me up a link? Props in advance. Is this is everything it should be, day 1 purchase no doubt

dont count on it
-
Album is dope. track with devin is my fav for nov.
-
Took a listen and TBH this album is kind of a let-down. Probably because I was expecting this album to sound like an authentic grimey New York album with Saigon spitting heat over beats by the likes of DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Large Pro, RZA and 9th Wonder. IMO the best track on this album is Bring Me Down Pt. 2, but I'll give it a few more spins and try to get it to grow on me. Still gonna pick up a copy to support Saigon though.
-
The album is a big, big letdown for me. It's not wack, but I expected Saigon to spit over hard Just Blaze beats with sampled & classy hooks.
-
Damn some of y'all disappointed. I think this lived up to the hype. Really dope album.
-
me too. most people don't seem to understand it's a concept album
-
Damn how dope would that be if he did make an album with new york producers like premo/rza/pete rock, buckwild, a real eastcoast grimey album (hope he goes that route with his 2nd album, if he ever makes one)
-
damn this album was worth the wait even though im not as hyped for it as i once was like 4-5 yrs ago. i copped it and its worth the 11.99 paid.
GO BUY THIS AT FYE for the DELUXE VERSION with a BONUS DISC CONTAINING 5 BONUS TRACKS.

Tried to order that version then but they don't ship outside the states. Just copped the regular off amazon, what are the bonus tracks?

It's Dubcc, we're never satisfied.

saigons 2nd album came out like 2 years ago lmao.
it was all statik selektah production and it was dope
-
downloadin now.
lets c if it lives up to the hype
-
Album is amazing start to finish, let the people that are disappointed keep listening to kid cudi
-
cudi's debut is dope and so is saigon's
where's the love?
-
Damn some of y'all disappointed. I think this lived up to the hype. Really dope album.
Agreed. I feel like the replay value will be huge on this and more so, it's not just lackluster content led by amazing Just Blaze production. Saigon has some fucking content to him. I don't know we'll see how it stands up to repeat listenings but right now, I'm very impressed. And after "Warning Shots 2", I was a little nervous but this was the kind of album that hip-hop needed.
And for people who want that grimey NY shit, just pop in that first "Warning Shots".
-

You listen to Dipset so no surprise there. Anyways this shit is hot and really well put together. Great content and production and most importantly its a full LP instead of that 10-12 song 45-50min fake ass LP crap all these rappers keep putting out. Exactly how a hip hop album should be nowadays. The length will give it good replay value somethin rare nowadays. Right now I give it a 9/10 but that rating will probably increase. Definitely gonna cop this.
-
10 to 12 tracks is an album., usually more concept driven. Is illmatic not an album? 12 to 16 tracks is also an album, with lots of content though it does not mean all is necessary quality.
-
one of the biggest problems in hip hop for the past x number of years has been bloated 18 track albums with too much filler so that is a completely stupid fucking opinion to have.
-
11,000 units first week, pretty poor effort but I guess it was expected. I bought my copy, anyone else?
-
^^^
FUCK THAT PISSES ME OFF!!!! hes probally for sure gonna quit now :-\
-
this album is a classic !!!! a lot of content on this album. the kanye produced track is the shit. that beat is 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

You shouldn't even throw around the term classic until atleast a couple of years after the album has come out, if it's still brough up in conversation and sounds fresh then, then I'd consider giving it that term. It is a very very solid album, and I believe could definitely be a future classic, however it all depends on how the album ages with time
-
Personal CLASSIC to me, its up there, but not trying to bitch but damn from the sounds of the og versions of "Invitation" and "Preacher"...damn!!!..had they been on the album, it woulda made it alittle better lol. Those two in og form sound like they coulda been the best cuts on the album for me lol 8)
-
I bought mine first day
-
Definitely looking forward to picking up this and Arms & Hammers by Strong Arm Steady. Have managed to avoid both leaks and can't wait to bump.
-
some tracks at the very beginning are a little meh IMO but it gets way better after that 8) I really liked this album.

where can i acquire the sounds of the og?

^^^
Im just referring to the Preacher version that was on some DJ Neptune mixtape, clearly the og version since i heard the mixtape came out in 05, if you dont got it ill send you it. And for invitation, im just going off on that shitty version thaty leaked (might be on youtube), just blazed had to remake the beats for the version he put out.
-
Yo, I just read Blaze said that was one of the first tracks him & Sai made. The og preacher as you put it is actually a freestyle track they cut together. The album was always different then the one you're talking about and did make the final cut. I just peeped Preacher "og" and it's dope.
The Invitation, og, sounds like it had live instrumentation more in tune with come on baby and a slightly faster energetic beat.\\
What happened to the original?
-
I guess whoever's in charge of clearing the samples couldn't clear em in time or at all, so instead of scrapping the song entirely, Just Blaze re-made the beat to what we got now 8)
-
this shits pretty good. too many songs though

Yeah, it's slowly starting to lack that replay value.

I still got it in rotation too, but I find myself starting to skip over some songs.

Yo, that happens when you constantly listen to a song.
-
Yo, that happens when you constantly listen to a song.
Ehh, agreed. But I've listened to "Bring Me Down" & the remix with Budden combined more then almost every other song combined & that song still isn't getting old.
A couple of songs though are dying on me.

Give It To Me, Better Way, What Lovers Do. I feel like Oh Yeah is on it's way out.
Not even that they're bad songs, they just get boring & old; hard to listen to.
-
Do you guys really listen to albums over and over again for so long? I'll listen to an album for a week and then move on to something else. At the end of that period I'll decide which songs should stay on my ipod.

Depending on the album.
-
For me, some albums are more conceptually driven so I'll bump it a couple of times and then move on. Tracks are dope in how they fit into the concept of the album. It's a story. This album is heavily a themed album so it's not like a 50 album where there's a collection of tracks. It's more like Reakwon's Only Built For Cuban Linx 2.
I know what Cham's saying but I think having that perspective when you listen to some music is very limiting. On the other hand, I also understand a part of making great music is playability.
As for my i-pod, I move whole albums over so I can attempt to see the artist vision as a whole and not just. I definitely, fall for certain tracks right away but I'm always impressed by the tracks that don't usually grab me now but later on after a couple of burns.
-
Even for my absolute favorite albums I would get bored bumping them over and over again. I've gotta have some variety.
-

Yeah, you would get bored of bumping them over & over again. But not individual songs.
For example, "MMLP" & "Padded Room". I can get bored or tired of listening to them as a whole, but no songs off either of those albums get boring to the point I don't want to hear them anymore. I haven't bumped "Padded Room" in a while, but I know the next time I do, I'll want to hear every song.
-
Im sorry but I cant fuck wit those short albums. You say long albums have filler but at least thats more acceptable than some of these 10-12 track albums that have filler im not gonna spend 17 dollars for a 11 track album of which 2 songs might be wack and then 1 or 2 might be a little bs intro or outro. I want my moneys worth.
-
Just listened to the album yesterday at the gym, and i was blown away. It's the first hiphop album that hit me hard all the way through in awhile. Definately gonna buy it.
http:/www.MicLordz.com <----Dubcc member touring with Sen Dog in March, check us out.
-
Is this the release everyone was talkin about for so long? If so did it live up to its expectations? The 2 songs i heard were nothing special
-

some music is timeless so you don't get tired of it because it will alwways stand the test of time. that's like someone saying they're are tired of hearing a temptations album or a commodores album.

I disagree. If you listened to any song over and over again, eventually you'll get tired of it. The key is variety. I have songs I'll always want listen to, but that's because I don't listen to the same song 247

If that was all I listened to for an entire week, yes I would get tired of it. Otherwise why would I even bother listening to new music? If that were the case I should just only listen to my favorite album over and over again.

well if someone listened to a cd all week and you're tired of it. it's not the cd's fault. change your playlist. that's why there's more than one cd to choose from.
-
I get tired of both the temptation and the commodores.

-
Still in my rotation. 2011 has actually been a fairly dope year for music, in my opinion.
