just checked it, album of the year....buyin that for me now and my children to listen 20 years from now.
-
Listening this right now, Crooked's verse on "gun harmonizing" was great. I believe this will be the album of the year. No weak songs yet, only dopeness after dopeness.
-
just about to check this out... :D
-
I'll wait for grouprip.
-
Whats the quality like?
-
i cant believe he didnt have elzhi as a guest appearence!
what a loser!
-
Damn this leaked, Ima have to wait a few weeks for my copy to arrive cos shipping is a bitch, so gonna check this now
-
i cant believe he didnt have elzhi as a guest appearence!
what a loser!
Actually he did reach out to Elzhi, but dude never got back to him. Royce said Elzhi is a perfectionist when it comes to getting verses from him. Apparently dude takes too long.
-
i can see it!
dude spits hot fiyah! Those two bring out the best in each other
-
Whats the quality like?
-
i am PUMPED!
great feedback so far. 8)
somebody let me know when the better quality is out.
-
Color me disappointed not too see Black Milk or Elzhi guesting on this album but that's just nitpicking. Royce's best album. Probably one of the best releases this year but far too early to tell.
-
Guess I'm the only one not impressed after 1 listen. This is basically Slaughterhouse 2.0.; some weird/weak beat choices, Royce gets annoying with his "I'm a gangsta" talk on some records, lot of lyrical power but not that much substance. I don't know, I'll give it a proper listen for a couple weeks, hope it changes.
-
The minute I saw the tracklist a couple weeks back I knew the majority of the album wasn't going to be on par with Shake This and Part of Me so I got over my disappointment before I listened to the record.
I would've preferred a deeper album on par with those two tracks but it didn't happen.
-
It has moments when someone gets bored from all the gangsta talk and some boring beats, but in general it definitely is one of the best albums of the year.
-
lol, just noticed that he left Joey off this.
anyone who has listened, what is the quality like? dope?
-
lol, just noticed that he left Joey off this.
anyone who has listened, what is the quality like? dope?
Decent Q, but some of the songs are YEARS old. I.E. - Shake This is two years old.
-

anyone who has listened, what is the quality like? dope?
he didn't want to bring down the quality of the album

6 songs we've already heard, it's actually bothering me.
i hope they aren't the six best songs off the album. :-X
i haven't bumped yet, but i got it; anticipating to listen. 8)
-
how many Primo beats are on this?
-
how many Primo beats are on this?
think its only 3. they are all fire though 8)
-
btw feeling the album, real nice for a new release 8)
-
I think there's 3 primo beats. Imo this isn't like Slaughterhouse album, there's more storytelling & production is different. And Royce really proves he's a great songwriter on this one.
-
can someone hook me up with a link. I go outta town for work tomorrow n want somethin new to listen too. Miuch appreciated.
-
not sure why people wait for the group (scene) rips these days
probably 9/10 the non-scene (non-grouprip) ends up being better quality than the group (scene) rip
scene rippers have a bunch of rules when it comes to ripping/encoding music, tv, movies etc, finding a balance between quality/size. alot of the non-scene groups these days are all about the quality and don't really care about the size
-
Average record to me, couple good beats by Primo, thats it
-
overall, i think its possibly the best royce album ive heard...
however, first of all it could've done without the autotune on Far Away, ruins the song for me...
secondly, royce is a pussy for only having Phonte sing the chorus on Something 2 Ride 2, Phonte would've made the song even tighter, nice vibe, premo killed the beat (imo he stole the show as usual), but im guessing Royce was too scared to get murdered on his own shit :D
thirdly, yeah some of the gangsta talk is a bit tiresome, but i think there's a good mix of the shit talking and storytelling shit to keep the album entertaining...premo tracks are flames, busta track is flames, gun harmonizing, on the run and murder all dope too imo...thats just from 1 listen...dont think i'll ever expect much better from Royce
-
lol, just noticed that he left Joey off this.
he's on 07 - Warriors (ft Slaughterhouse)
8)
-
Just finished track 1,
damn that hook was annoying, dont think ill listen to that again :-\
-
lol, just noticed that he left Joey off this.
he's on 07 - Warriors (ft Slaughterhouse)
8)
lol, i barely count that.
that's a Slaughterhouse leftover that shouldn't be on the album lol.
-
Dope album, as expected.. 8)
But WTF did they do to "Part Of Me".. ?
Sounds distorted, unmixed and unfinished, and they cut off the intro.. the leaked single sounds better.
Check this (http://sharebee.com/3fcdc142), and compare to the ripped version.. slightly lower volume though.
-
on the run 8) such a sick song n sample.
-
1. Gun Harmonizing f. Crooked I - 4.5/5; amazing lyrics, beat was tight & Crooked killed it. :o
2. Count For Nothing - 4/5; another great jam killed by Royce.
3. Soldier f. Kid Vishis - 3.5/5; i expected a lot more out of this song, but still bumpable.
4. Something 2 Ride 2 f. Phonte - 4.25/5; real smooth, flow was sick & Phonte killed the hook. 8)
5. Dinner Time f. Busta Rhymes - 3.75/5; a lyrical onslaught by both Royce & Busta, but sounds more like a freestyle than a song. :-X
6. Far Away - 4.25/5; i dig how Royce stopped himself in the beginning. the autotune was tolerable too.
7. Warriors f. Slaughterhouse - 4.75/5; one of the best Slaughterhouse songs made so far. should have made their album.
8. … a Brief Intermission (Skit) - N/A
9. New Money - 4.5/5; i don't know about you guys, but Royce flowed his ass off on this song. didn't have high expectations, but was surprised.
10. Shake This - 4.75/5; mad old, but mad good lol. i wish Royce made more of the album with songs like this.
11. Gangsta f. Trick Trick - 4.75/5; could be my personal favorite song off this album. just a beast track by Royce. :o 8)
12. Minez In This - 4/5; real dope song. what song is the hook? i think he stole it from a 50 Cent song lol.
13. Street Hop 2010 - 3.75/5; pretty good, but nothing real special.
14. Thing For Your Girlfriend f. K-Young - 4.25/5; K-Young killed the hook & just overall a great track. LOL @ the song's intro.
15. On the Run - 4.5/5; just a dope, dark feel to this. i will stay bumpin'. INSANE SAMPLE! :o
16. Murder - 4.25/5; nice follow up track to On The Run. shit was REAL tight.
17. Bad Boy f. Jungle Rock Jr. - 4.25/5; at first i wasn't feeling the Jamacian thing, but then as it went on i was feelin' it. the hook was alright, not a big fan of that music though. Royce killed it though.
18. Part of Me - 4.75/5; same as Shake This, mad old, but mad good. partcially disturbing, but great story. again, should have made most of the album like this.
19. Hood Love f. Bun B & Joell Ortiz - 4.5/5; Premo killed it, the hook was dope by Bun & Joell & Royce owned those verses. 8)
Overall: 4.291666667 lol.
hands down a contender for album of the year, but lets let the year end. ;)

Damn baby all I need is a lil bit
A lil bit of this, a lil bit of that
Get it crackin' in the club when you hear this shit
Drop it like its hot, get to workin' that back
Go shake that thang, yeah work that thang
Let me see it go up and down
Rotate that thang, I wanna touch that thang
Can you make it go round and round
I step up in the club, I'm like who you with
G-Unit in the house, yeah thats my clique
Yeah I'm young, but a nigga from the old school
On the dance floor, a nigga doin' old moves

Then I'ma get shorty here and I'ma let her know

Damn the song with Game didn't make it!
I can't wait to hear this. Royce is Mr. 2009 as far as I'm concerned. His verses on "Fight Club" alone > everything any other artist has done this year.
-
Damn the song with Game didn't make it!
i wonder if that had to do with the recent talks with Shady & the fact 50 is closely associated with them.
probably not though, i'm sure he had to hand in the final tracklisting at least a month ago.
-
come on cham click crooked and royce could have made a better song that they did on this
two powerhouses need to come thru
-
I'm confused. Are people saying Royce ghosted Just a Lil Bit or he just used those verses from 50 as a chorus?
-
not sure why people wait for the group (scene) rips these days
probably 9/10 the non-scene (non-grouprip) ends up being better quality than the group (scene) rip
scene rippers have a bunch of rules when it comes to ripping/encoding music, tv, movies etc, finding a balance between quality/size. alot of the non-scene groups these days are all about the quality and don't really care about the size
I used to be in the scene (OSC) and judging by the filesize and the fact that it's VBR, it's APS, which is the scene encoding standard. The only difference here would be the encoder used (LAME preferred) and cd ripper used (EAC preferred).
But yes you are right, the independent rippers have gotten so educated they are putting out just as good rips now as scene groups.
-
link please
that track with crooc is just :o
-
I'm confused. Are people saying Royce ghosted Just a Lil Bit or he just used those verses from 50 as a chorus?
Haha nah he just used 50's lines for the hook
-
Wow did I just see somebody that doesn't like Gun Harmonizing? That song is fuckin amazing, I loved the solo verison on the EP but this make it perfect with Crooked on it. Overall great album so far.
-

i was bumping the Royce song & i know he was using lines from a 50 song on the hook.
then somebody showed that it was a hook on Just A Lil' Bit; no big deal. he didn't steal, he basically sampled it.
& btw, On The Run & Murder is out of this world insane. that story is incredible. :o :o :o
-
^ yea 'murder' is dope but 'gangster' is my fav track.. great beat
-
^ yea 'murder' is dope but 'gangster' is my fav track.. great beat

+1 to both of yall on that, that track is pure heat, stays on repeat. Trick Trick sounding gutter as fuck on the outro lol
-
grouprip is out for those waiting on it 8)

You're right it sounds awful. i waited all that time for that for no reason. Downloading the non grouprip now.
-
grouprip is out for those waiting on it 8)
but it sounsd like shit
Yeah, WTF is up with the grouprip, it sounds like that cheesy "Arena/Hall"-effect on cheap boomblasters or mp3-players.
The debate is raging on BX, seems like most people are expecting it to be nuked, and re-ripped.
Didn't expect this from the leading rip-group.. btw, this album is good enough to buy. 8)
-
^^ Lol, even my MediaMonkey doesn't like the rip, each time I click play on a track, it takes 1-2 seconds before it starts to play, other albums play instantly.
-
btw, this album is good enough to buy. 8)
Yep, im definetly buyin this.
-
The H3X one is the shitty one right?
What about the P2P rip?
-
pretty solid album
-
tell me you guys don't hear a little modern day Eminem in Royce on the song "Minez In This".
not to mention, Mr. Porter appears in that song too lol.
dope track though. 8)

is there an alternate rip out?? that h3x shit sounds trash, p2p bitrate's low as fuck tho...

I quote:
the rip isn't messed up, thats the way it sounds on the CD also, I got my preorder in the mail yesterday and was pretty disappointed, I was really hoping it was just the rip
^^ Guy on BX.. M.I.C./One Records fucked up! :poke: :eh: :grumpy:
This time, the non-grouprip bootleg is actually better than both the store retail and the actual grouprip.

Joe Budden probably told Royce that he's got him with the mixing lol.
but for Royce's & the people who copped the album's sake, it better be great quality; better than some internet rip anyway.
