Title: info on Obie's album
Post by: The Watcher on May 02, 2006, 05:42:37 AM
a member of another forum i frequent interviewed Paul Rosenberg for http://www.statemagazine.nl and got a preview of Obie's album;

Eminem produced 9 tracks on the album, more productions from Denine Porter, Emile. Features from Em, Akon, Nate Dogg, Trey Songz.

Paul said there will definitely be no collabs with The Game because of his problems with 50 Cent.

Some of the stuff I heard:

* 24's (nice dark Em prod)
* Jamaican Girl (dancehall-ish/clubbish, with Brick’n Lace)
* Everywhere I Go (50 on the chorus)
* Cryin' Out (you guys are gonna love this one! agressive streetjoint prod. by Sicknotes)
* Love (prod. by 9th Wonder, with Jaguar Wright)

Eminem produced 9 tracks on the album

Until just now I was really hyped about this album :-\

When will these artists realize Eminem is not a good producer?

Thats quite obvious. I was a liltle surpised when they made Snitch the actuall official 1st single, I thought it was just a street single.

My prediciton:  Snitch will end up as a street single and a new single will be aired soon, of course pushing back the album.

I think albums shouldn't have set release dates until one week before its actually ready

"24's" is produced by J.R., not by Eminem.

I probably won't be pickin it up.  I don't really like Obie's flow.  He can come decent lyrically, but he makes me lose interest pretty easily.

 His last album was a must buy, as it had some of Dre's greatest post 2001 production. I think his production on here was a great sampling of his direction on Detox at the time.  But because Obie didn't explode on the scene like Em and 50, Dre kinda backed away from that production style cuz he hasn't really produced anything like it since.  Hopefully he's just not letting us hear it and not giving up on that style cuz it was dope as hell.

Plus Em came really nice on his features and I was actually feeling some of his production.  But fast forward 2 and half years, Em fell the fuck off, Dre ain't hookin Obie up with no more beats, 50's a cornball.  The only thing thats gonna carry this album will be some likely dope production from 9th, Alchemist, and Akon.  I'll peep those tracks.
