It's a question, not mocking.
It seems like the American ppl can get a driving-license as long as they have OK vision, and isn't retarded.
Here in Norway, lots of American ppl go up to a new driving-test before they can get the European version of the drivers license, and I hear a lot of funny stories about Americans who fail their test barely before the test has started.
Some of em say that they took the license-test in 5-10 minutes in the U.S., all they had to do was to make some turns and reverse a few meters (feet)
So how is it really over there?
-
its pretty much like you said..all ya do is make sum left and right turns, parallell park and do a 3 point or K turn and thats it..its only about 4 or 5 minutes long.....its really easy too.
-
Why make it a pain in the ass anyways? If you can drive well then I think you deserve a license.Although alot of assholes have no idea what they are doing, I dont know how they got theirs lol
-
Though I heard people talk about how bad European drivers are. Like they go extremely fast, and don't watch what they are doing. In Minnesota, people here though drive just straight awful. In Cali, it's too damn crowded, but people drive better, just a little crazy in terms of changing lanes in stuff. In the I.E. though, we got to have the best drivers, 'cause I usually feel safe driving... though I did say usually.

I heard Italy is fuckin dangerous to drive in
-
wtf this is crazy............
what the hells the mortality rate there?!
over here........
1) you have to pass a 35 question 'theory test' before you're even allowed to book the practical.
2) the practical is 45 mins long. you have to drive on many types of roads and perform 3 moves without faults.
i guess our roads must pretty safe.
-
They are
But then again our roads are far more crowded than the majority of American roads
-
Yea Thats Crazy, Its An Arse Over Here To Get A License In Comparison! >:(
Oh Well, Ive Got Mine Now, I Dont Intend To Lose It *Touch Wood* ;)

Hell yea, I was in Rome once, and it was a total chaos.
The only 2 rules they got there is:
1. If a car drives faster than you, it's the slower cars fault if they crash.
2. Pedestrians better watch it, even if they got a green man.
Cars can drive on red light.
And also they apparently has a parking-rule:
1. When parked, the car must be no longer than 1 cm (or 0.3 inches) from the next parked car. If it actually TOUCHES the next car, you have done a very good job. Scratches in the next car doesn't matter, it's just a car.

yeah, that's about the same as here in No'way

the driving test in the US is one of the easiest tests I have ever taken. I am sorry if I offend anyone, but if you can't pass it on the first try then you are retarded.

where do you live? Cause here in Cali the roads are really, really crowded and I can't see how it could get anymore crowded.
-
yea i passed the test and i coulda did it with my eyes closed
-
AC:
I can understand Cali would be crowded but the majority of American roads would be far less crowded than English ones.

boston is chaos. i went up there once an people r walkin in tha middle of traffic, people be double parkin. i was talkin to a kid i work wit cuz he goes to college in boston an he was tellin how pedstrians always have tha right away no matter what, thats why its so hetic. In manhattan it dangerous cuz of tha cab drivers, they wouldnt even break for there own mothers. queens, brooklyn, bronx is a bitch. every other light is a red light an every other street is a one way street.

Oh written test in California I think is like 50 questions if I remember and you can only miss 7. Then you take an eye test, and have behind the wheel. If your under 18, you now must go to school for driving, so you can take the written test. Most school districts took out drivers ed too now, so people are paying like $200 to learn to drive. Then you need so many hours behind the wheel, I think like 30 or 60, before you can take your behind the wheel drivers test. You get points taken of for errors, and certain things like running a red light, stop light, or hitting something, is an automatic falure. I missed 13 points 'cause the instructer didn't like my eye movement, but I was getting used to my glasses. But anyways, we got 15 points to work with, so I passed. And also Cali drivers, except those with road rage, are usually much more laid back than other drivers in the nation. I drove from Cali to Minnesota, and people are fucken nutts across this country.
And there is no way traffic can be worst than Cali, 'cause you don't move in traffic, and freeways like the 10, 405, and 5 are basically parking lots. Bad driving is not really that bad for the extreme numbers of drivers, it's more road rage that just pisses people of. One car can fuck up a grip of peoples day. But compare Cali to Minnesota, 'cause that's all I know outside Cali, people basically go to the DMV, take a book, study it, when they turn 16, they take the test, past, and shortly take behind the wheel and get a license. And though you can do that after you turn 18 in Cali, most people go to the damn school and watch those damn movies 'cause your a loser if you don't have your license by 16, at least for guys. Maybe women are bad drivers 'cause they don't do all that school stuff 'cause guys feel more pressure to drive. I might be on to something ::) Oh well, still, in Cali, no car, no girls.

It all depends on the Teacher/instructor...
-
according to statistics, USA have the highest frequence of traffic-accidents in the world....
-
In Ontario (Canada) we have 3 stages (G1, G2, G)
To get G1 it's just a vision and written test
G1= you can drive with a licenced G driver + other restrictions
To get your G2 you wait a year after G1 or eight months with a driving school certificate then take the basic driving test
G2= you can drive normally but can have zero alcohol in your system
After a year you get you G after a 45 min driving test.
G= full driving rights
They will fail you whenever they can. They want the money you gotta pay to retake the test.

thats becuz american police officers actually arrive on the scene and the accident gets recorded and becuz we keep out books better than other countries...
i find that EXTREMELY hard to beleive though..
all you saying stuff now havent been on both sides...
i lived in american traffic for 19 yrs.. boston, san fran, nyc, and just my home town traffic...
and i have been to all sorts of foreign counties... and americans drive better than any of them... maybe nyc, la and boston are hectic but they dont compare to italy, or jamaica which are the most recently forgein countries i have traveled too...
i saw 10 accidents when i was in italy, i saw one person get seriously injured and taken away to the hospital... and lets just put it like this.... every car parked on the side of the street has at least one dent in it....
so for those that have only seen their country american drivers are some of the best.. i never been to england so it might be good there but we are killin yall not cuz of the test i dont think but becuz our police actually police the traffic in italy they police dont give a shit how u drive...
-
The roads in almost all of Cali are over crowded. I don't even see the point of that hard testing because most accidents come from simple errors and mistakes like falling asleep or losing focus.
-
Also, for as many drivers on the roads in Cali, you'd expect more crashed, 'cause they are there, but considering that over 10 million cars a day travel on the Southern California freeways, that accidents would happen a lot more often. As for the rest of the U.S., they just go crazy when it comes to driving in cities. Most people are use to going 90 on the open roads, and then when force to go 35-45 in a city, they just keep going fast and crash. They really need to teach these people how to drive.

well.. thats your view...
the truth is still that americans have more accidents per capita
