I used to be big. I mean big. Like, blubber. One day I told myself I'm going to lose this weight. I decided I would start running and eat healthier. When I started I couldn't run down the end of my street without losing my breath. It was difficult, it was like that for a few weeks. One day though, I decided to cut it out, and I ran and ran... until I returned back home. Now I run about 3 miles every other day. I used to eat fast food, junk, sodas, chips ... now I eat a lot healthier. I eat mainly chicken, fish, with occosional beef. I'm not on the atkins. I still eat a lot of sandwiches and so forth. My soda is now juice or water. I eat cereal and yogurt. Honestly, I like what I eat now. I no longer stuff myself when I'm hungry. I eat about 4-5 meals a day now. I eat all the time, but my choices our wiser. In the process I've lost a total of 47 lbs. When I started I weight 240 lbs, now I'm at 193 lbs and still trimming. It's winter now, so I'm weight training now. Eating lots of protein to build some muscle. But there will be days when I eat like a horse, I just know the next day will be a big day of exercising. I feel a lot better than I used. Check out the pics.

Thats really amazing man, I can;t give ya nuthin but props. I have a cousin that did the same thing because he was starting to have health problems. He like about 50 pounds in 9 months, and he's a lot healthier and feels great.
That goes to show that anybody can drop weight if they are really determined to.

Today I ate...
Bowl of cereal and yogurt
Chicken, oranges and pretzels
Rice and beans
lots of water
and I lifted weight today... exercise is key
probably have one last meal in me today.
It takes a discipline. I've tried many times to lose weight in the past and its mind over matter. Think about it like this. I spent years of my life getting fat. It's not like I just woke up one day with blubber on me. I got there from eating bad, not exercising and just being lazy. It takes time to get fat... it takes just as much time to lose weight.
I lost on average, 2 lbs every two weeks. My goal was to lose 5 lbs every month. I lost 47 lbs, so it took 6 months. It's unhealthy if you lose 2 lbs in one week. It's also unhealthy gain 2 lbs in one week.
I also paid a lot of attention to what I was eating. I counted calories and fat grams. I ate about 1500 calories a day. Trust me, its a real gut check. Your hungry all the time, but your re-training your body. Now it's normal. I know longer feel those hungry urges.
I exercised every other day. I spent one day running, the next day doing normal activities.
The best thing is when you see your work pay off. Once you see the pounds shade away, it's so much power to go and do it again.
if you want to lose weight, then here are some tips.

Write down what you eat. Keep track of calories and fat grams. I suggest trying to get 20 grams or less per day, if you want to lose. Each meal should be around 400 - 500 calories

Exercise frequently. Start with small goals. Remember, cardio exercise is the way to lose weight. I suggest running, jogging, bicycling, anything. Start with small goals. Dont get up trying to run 5 miles off the start. For me, I tried to run to the corner of my street and back. Literally only 4 min of running. Now I run about 3 miles in 30 min. The average person should get 30 min of cardio exercise a day.
If your hearts not pumping, your not working hard. Remember that.

Pig out occassionaly. There's grease, fried foods everywhere. Who can resist all the food. No one. I had about 1 pig day every two weeks. Dont go crazy though.

No soda, No Junk Food
Replace soda with juice, chips should be replaced with pretzels and light popcorn. I don't even drink soda anymore. One bottle of soda can be about 200-400 calories.

Stay determined
take a picture of yourself looking nasty. Put it on your refrigerator. Get some friends in on it. It's better with teamwork.

Research
Get a health magazine... I like Mens Health, Mens Fitness... read what they say... you learn a lot.
Anyone can do it. Just remember it takes discipline...just FORCE it on yourself. If you want it, you can do it...
and soon...
it wont be a diet anymore... if you keep up for 6 months they say you no longer on a diet, but you've changed your lifestyle and hopefully from there you can show off your new look.

Those of you who can eat anything without worrying are lucky. I can't. No one in my family can. I don;t necessarily watch what I eat all the time, but I do gain weight easily without staying active.

btw BPG, pretzels are not good for you. they are pretty fatty and so are crackers. they had a thing on msn yesterday about the 10 worst foods for you as in terms of calories and fat and it went something like this: french fries, dougnuts, potatoe chips, candy bars, crackers, pretzels, soda, and some other things I can't remember.
I'm not really fat, but I do have body fat and a beer belly. I'm trying to tone up and even trying to get a 6 pack hopefully. So I have been doing cardio and trying to diet. I never liked soda so that is not a problem for me, and I don't eat sweets unless I am stoned and got the munchies, but I quit smoking weed as a new years resolution. a big problem for me was getting high and getting the munchies, and I could just eat forever, usually late at night before bed. Potatoe chips are a killer tho, I luv them. That was another new years resolution for me, to quit eating chips. Fast food isn't really a problem for me, cuz I don't like it. usually I would only eat it when I was high and lazy, but when I don't have the munchies I realize how nasty the shit is.
The biggest problem for me is alchohol. I drink a lot. I can put down a 12 pack no problem and not even be drunk. and alcohol adds a lot of calories. plus I don't like vegetables really. but yeah BPG i was wondering some specific meals you eat, like how you make your chicken or whatever.

ok, well I eat boneless chicken breasts with no skin. According the nutri facts, one chicken filet is 5 gms of fat and 48 gms of protein, which is awesome if you're trying to gain some muscle weight. I cook my chicken on the stove. I add some onions and peppers for flavor. You can also microwave it or bake it. I'll usually have a side of fruit or vegetables with that and some potatoes without butter. I think I counted the calories on that one meal and it totaled 423 calories, which is perfect. 7 gms of total fat I believe. That's like a subway sandwhich.
As for pretzels, damn, I guess I'll be careful about that. I've been eating pretzels since I started losing weight and i keep losing it, so I don't know. The package says 0 gms of fat with 100 calories per serving. Sodium is high though. They are high in carbs though. Carbs are good though if you do cardio. You need carbs to maintain energy. If you just eat a lot of foods high in carbs and then just sit around, your body stores the carbs as fat so just remember to exercise.

Thats why the atkins diet is so popular. Essentially it eliminates carbs from your diet and puts your on a strict lean protein diet. Your body then burns the fat on you. Problem is, high protein foods are also high in cholestrol and some people have been having early heart attacks because of it. However, you'd have to eat a lot to obtain that much cholestrol.

that is a cool article for burning fat. Its called HIIT. it stands for High Intensive Interval Training. I haven't really tried it much yet, but I am going to as soon as I get my body back in good enuff cardio shape for it. it makes sense tho and is worth a shot.

i weigh about 208lbs. i lift everyday of the week for about 3 hours. I take a daily multivitamin and 2000mg of flax seed oil. I take 5 grams of creatine monohydrate a day for maintainance. I drink nothing but water. I eat fairly healthy but i do get days I eat like a pig which i gotta control.

lol. thats fucked up. yeh i only eat fast food like once a week now. i used to be ripped but then i started eating food on campus like every fuckin day ($1 double cheese burgers) and barely have a fuckin 2 pack now. started runnin 40 mins a day and started workin out 5 days a week. as long as im fit for the sumemr its all good.

milk? that shit isnt healthy homie. my friend used to drink a lot of milk and fucked up his stomach and had to go to the hospital for a few days. this is after about a year of drinking it tho. but a gallon a day is way to much. if your trying to get big just buy protien and make a bunch of shakes. i assume you want to get big as in muscular and not fat again. go to http://www.allthewhey.com/ and get sum orange protien. like 10 lbs.

Dieting aint the way to do it I dont think. You will tone up and loose the weight if you just continue to exercise, drink nothing but water and cut down on eating. Dont starve yourself but dont pig out alot. Try to have breakfast, lunch and dinner, no snacks in between. Its easy to say but I have been doing this for about a month now and I feel great. I still got my little big of flab on my belly but I am sure it will go in time.
I have been doing about a mile run everynight (almost), half an hour on weights, sits up, press ups, eating a lil less and drinking water non stop. You cant expect miricles to happen though. I have pigged out a few times, ate Mcdonalds, Subways whatever, and been out drinking alot lately so I am bound to not loose everything I would like.

i'm at 188 pounds now.. (13 stone 6/85 kilos) my goal is 154 (11 stone/70 kilos)
i dont feel unfit, i still skateboard on sundays.. i have good stamina still.
i do eat reasonably well apart from saturday tea time where i have junk with a homie..
for breakfast all i have is a milkshake..
then when i get to work i have one coffee to get me going..
and a 'soda' at lunchtime (normally diet cola though)
for lunch i have sandwiches.. i eat granary bread.. not the white stuff..
have crisps (potato chips) and a choccie bar.. and a banana.
and i drink lots of water from the cooler throughout the day..
other than that.. i have a beer some nights.. but no more than 1 or..2
and i dont go out drinking every weekend...
problem is.. i drive to and from work, and i'm sat down all day while i'm there
i used to be about 10/11 stone when i cycled in 3 years ago.. and i didnt skate or drive back then
i was roughly 12st 12 pounds all last year up until this christmas time where i flew past the 13 mark.
i do have a lil sticky out belly thats not proper blubber.. and i feel sluggish sometimes when skating now..
