written by Alex Haley, the same fool that co wrote the Autobiography of Malcolm X, its the story of an African slave and his descendants in America
this book brought tears to my eyes for real, and i have read Countless amounts of books in my life, Roots takes it

I read it in highschool, and I agree it is good. Probably not my alltime fave, but definitly one of the best.

Alex Haley wrote the autobiography of Malcolm X. how does that work?

Roots is a good book, but I've read much better. Great book, Great story, however. I really liked it. I wonder how real the series was? I never sat through the whole thing.
-
what do u mean by series??
you mean the actual tale itself? cuz the tale itself is real, it took years of research and shit
-
I know that... I was talking about the television series, alex haley's roots that they did a while back. It was like a 10 hour mini-series based on the book. I wonder how accurately it represents the book,b ecause I haven't read it.
-
ive never seen the series but i have read the book
if u have a passion for the literature, read Roots, seriously

Dogg, Honestly, I would. Because I can tell from what I've read it'd be an awesome story... I shouldn't have said it wasn't the greatest book ever, because I haven't read the whole thing, just gathered bits and pieces... But I can't read without falling asleep anymore, LOL. I barely can read a few chapters of the bible, which I find endlessly fascinating, without falling asleep. So it'd take me like 10 years to read that book.
I used to read all the time, I even won a reading contest in 2nd grade like a little nerd.
