Yeah atheism is a pretty bitter concept, but religion is unfathomably stupid in my book.

Guess ya never read The Book of Job.

yes, God takes away everything from his most devout follower because of a bet with satan.
What a god ::)

Considering the bible was written by man (probably by a liars hand) its very likely they had no true concept of history. Mainly cause of the fact no carbon dating. So they took a guess..
-
But like you say, since they had no true concept of history, and no knowledge of dinosaurs or such animals as crocodiles, how could they still manage to write it out...see by sayin' all that, ya'll provin' my point..
Quick, 'Bible Study', when someone would ask about dinosaurs.....they would refer them too Behemoth. I don't know if they really dinosaurs or not, they sound like alligators to me.
Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
Behemoth...Dinosaurs?
With Thee...Cavemen?
I say an alligator
Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews (tendons) of his stones are wrapped together.
Dinosaur..
His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
Alligator..
Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed (water plants), and fens (wetland).
The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
BUT, it does say this..
He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
So whatever the fuckin' thang is, only God could kill him, and knowing how big dinosaurs is, it makes perfect sense, ain't no human man killing that shit..
So whatever the fuckin' thang was, is was beastly..
Anddddd to the lying man who wrote the book with NO knowledge of dinosaurs, talked about SOME BEAST....and with our knowledge today KNOW about dinosaurs.....sooooooooooo....
AND now I just wrote alllllllllllllll that shit to Atheists who prolly don't give a fuck anyways......all that just to defend. What the fuck.
-
most of these so called born again or believing christians still buy into all that ''the earth is 10.000 years old bullshit". the science community talks about the earth being around 4.5 billion years old and they're actually pretty united in that belief. i think its pretty clear how these religious fanatics operate. these muthafuccas dont use reason or logic when they go about explaining shit. all they have is some seriously fucced up book that has been rewritten, revised and edited over a billion times. the most bizarre thing about it is that people still take it seriously...despite all the shit we know now...and even if u tried to use logic and live your life by this book it's fuccin impossible. This shit is filled with contradictions. And Quiet...behemoth a dinosaur...tail movin like a cedar is alligator...are you serious? wtf homie. No one said dinosaurs was killed by men. Ever thought about weather conditions?. A giant asteroid perhaps. A gang of shit could've went down.
-
QT there refering to satan and shitj with behemoth.

You don't need to have a religious belief to believe in god though and while I don't follow any religious book, some atheists are just as fanatical and just as crazy as any religious zealot. The fact is that athiesm too literally, just as religion can be too taken to insane levels, is very dangerous but the most outspoken of atheists are usually the most pig headed, arrogant people you are likely to meet. If you feel enlightened by being an atheist, then cool, however athiesm has also been used as a weapon with devastating results. Yet the myth promulgated by a hardcore section and with it parroted by others is that it's atheists who are the peaceful ones and religious people who are the danger to society. This is partly built on the fact of course that the republican party for instance has been re branded away from it's original ideology into a swarm of right wing religious nuts, however that betrays the truths of history. Of course I don't have any proof that god exists beyond just my own faith, my own belief, my own feeling but why do atheists being so "enlightened" find it necessary to go after anyone who has any faith in god. It feels like an insecurity on their part and seems somewhat ironic when you consider that bible bashers are chastised.

damn str8 talk^^

HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHA , WATCHING SOME SHOW WITH SOME RETARD TELLING KIDS DINOSAURS LIVED THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO.
THAT SHIT IS SO FUCKING FUNNY.
He's ruining kids, Is that even legal?
It's goddamn funny.
"1 thing I Don't like about dinosaurs is that satan uses them to tell you lies"
"When your playing with dinosaurs with your friends tell them 'did you know dinosaurs lived side by side with the humans"
"If Dinosaurs lived millions of years ago why do they apear on so many art work of ancient civilisations"
It made my day ;D

Genisis was based on a sumerian story about the creation of the earth.
The world was created by a snake god...
Snake... Sound familiar :P?

you have ben drinking to much :P :-*
-
you have ben drinking to much :P :-*
yes I'VE been drinking too much ::)
The original genisis was about the same story but there was a snake god, and to 'mock' the older religion the snake was made an evil.

Evolution
-
and what started evolution?
-
and what started evolution?
ROFL
+1 for making me laugh
Evolution will be there as long as there is something to evolve.
Like there has always been Hydrogen and Helium (first 2 elements present in the universe)
-
and WHO made those two things...............
-
and WHO made those two things...............
The Big bang, But does something have to be created?
And evolution is a law, like gravity. Where there's matter there's gravity
-
yeah but your not getting the point everythin comes from something like what came first the chicken or the egg?If the chicken came first then what made the chicken and if the egg came first who made the egg?see what I am getting at?There has to be something that caused all this, where you will go there with me at least?
-

Egg came first, dinosaurs laid eggs way before chickens existed ::)
By that logic, god has to be created to.....
-
very good(hey qt anyway He can come in) now I know you don't want to admit there is a God but will you give me this much that there is something up there that was there when the dinoc were here?Cuz the dinos didn't just get here on their own..........

It started with simple bacteria that evolved over billions of years to more complicated organisms.
Early fish didn't even have a digestion system, they just had alot of other bacteria's helping to digest the food

^^you guys are going in circles with no end in sight.
I dont necessarily believe in God, and I for damn sure dont believe in any particular religion. For one, I dont believe God made man. I believe we are relatively insignificant in the greater picture of the worlds history. Religion seems to give man a much more important role then they really carry. We will be extinct one day like damn near every other species thats ever existed. The world will go on, and not miss us. I do however understand Queens question of where did we come from. Not man in particular, but all of this. I wonder myself sometimes. I believe in evolution, without a doubt. Its seems pretty obvious. Obvious enough that the human mind can understand it. But really, where did EVERYthing come from? How was the universe created? Its a question we simply dont KNOW the answer to. The problem I have with religion is that it creates a baseless answer rather then just admitting that nobody knows. There is NO PROOF of God, Jesus, or any of the nonsense in the Bible. It is there solely for those who want answers...to questions that can not be answered by us. Its comforting to feel as if SOMEone knows whats going on. But the truth is, none of us do.
-
okay daygo but see the point is we did come from sowewhere......right?Like I can't prove that there is a God,like you can't prove there isn't a God,I see part of yalls basic idea and that so we humans don't get enough credit for what we do but daygo I don't believe we are here for nothing,it makes it seem you are flirting with depression daygo and that worries me a little.............
-
we make a difference daygo, you make a difference(now perhaps we don't get enough credit for what we do)but still we can't possibly be here for nothing, cmon guys surely you don't believe that............that is just plain suicide thinking...............
-
Jesus has existed.
his divine powers have not, He was human like you and I.
QS, do we need to have a purpose for everything?
I mean I masturbate daily, but there's no reason for it.
Daygo you make some interesting ponts there, we don't know anything about before the big bang.
My theory is that the big bang was caused because of the end of a previous universe, the universe colapsed and from the force created by that colapse another universe was created.
There might be a god, but definatly not as the bible describes it.
Because afterall it's just guessing what the religions do.
But I would still like to say, if you think evolution is bullshit you should kill yourself
-

Yes, we did come from somewhere. I just dont make up an answer without evidence. Thats what religion has done. And peoples fear of the unknown and of death are so strong that they are willing to believe anything to comfort those fears.
lol Im not depressed. I just live in reality. I believe in facts. I believe that 2+2 = 4...because I can prove to you that it is true. No one can prove that God is real. There is no historical evidence of Jesus. I dont have to prove that there is NO God. If I told you there were invisible rats running around your room right now, could I later say that Im not the crazy one...you are, because you cant prove that they ARENT there?
-

Its impossible to understand this religion bullshit and to me the reasons for NOT believing in god far out number the reasons for believing in god. How the fucc are you gonna believe in something and buy into something you don't know exists. You can't touch it, see it or hear it and you certainly dont feel it. If theres an almighty god would he allow wars, torture, murder or little kids gettin killed by stray bullets. Yeah I know what religious people say but YOU CAN'T PUT FAITH ABOVE LOGIC. The minute you do that is the minute you become fuccin delusional. Its like them muthafuccas who buy into the illuminati, the ufos, the conspiracy theories and all that other bullshit. The reasons for believing in god and all that other shit I just mentioned are exactly the same. ITS FAITH ABOVE LOGIC AND IF IT AIN'T LOGIC THEN IT'S BULLSHIT. Seriously where is the logic in believing in something no one has proved exists!!!. There is no evidence. NOTHING. You wanna believe in something..well how about starting with yourself.

wow c-blue you sound angy today(wonder what is eating you)so ikke you mention that there might be a Jesus,so lets hear your reasoning as to who Jesus is...........I am dying to hear this............. ;)

I love how people will fight over two theories and profess them like they are fact.
Fact of the matter is, nobody knows how all this got here 100% and in my opinion, we should be trying to see how we can last here before getting wiped out or wiping ourselves out. AND in my honest opinion, I'm leaning towards the scientific theory as to why we are here because 1) its somewhat logical and 2) it is backed up by evidence other than some dude shouting "Let there be light" and it appears.
The only flaw in both theories is how something came from nothing, but neither really addresses that issue well. One does address the issue better about what happened after matter appeared.

Nothing to solid.
Some graves of family members., some roman books I think.
But if you think about it every book in bible refers to something that actually happend.
Like in every book nowadays, fictional but based on shit that really happend.
Even atlantis existed. The black sea and the persian golf weren't always bodies of water.

very good ikke and I think that there is some stuff in there that might ber based on something that happened,I am not trying to agree on the whole bible cuz I got problems where it says that a woman has to walk behind her man and cannot raise her voice above a whisper man FUCK THAT SHIT

I do think people sell themselves short by simpling writing everything off to God. God isnt the reason you were successful today, you are. I think we havent even come CLOSE to understanding everything that man is capable of.

lol yes, church is really degrating towards woman.
Adam was created in god's likeness, Eve out of some useless body part of god to show mans dominance.
And adam's first bitch who was created in gods likeness as well became a demon because she never got to go on top.
Lillith.
I know I fucked up transelation on that post

QT there refering to satan and shitj with behemoth.
Where the fuck do you get that from?
Second of all...
Why do the Atheists keep bringing up God? That's the real question. If ya'll don't give a shit about God or Jesus, why constantly bring them up? Seriously. It's so ironic. If you got no belief than why argue about it. Atheism is so negative to me, it makes no sense.
And with all the evolution shit...let's be for reallllll, why ain't we evolving niggas.....shouldn't we have about 4 arms by now? Or maybe one leg, one arm? Maybe we evolving mentally, but forget that claim, becuz, as for the other half...physically....there's the L........what we was monkeys than became caveman, and than just stopped??

because "man" as we reconize him is relatively new. The evolution of man is spread out over millions of years. Even man now has evolved. Its just that the process is so slow that in our lifetime we would not notice it at all.

Well, Christian's are the most hypocritical follower's, there's no question about that, and should be ashamed of themselves.
But believing in God, finding morals thru out The Bible, and principles and having faith point blank, is a beautiful thang. But there's only a few genuine people out there today who have that mind state. The world is a beautiful place, but nobody appreciates it. Which is sad. And realizing that doesn't require faith, but it defiantly strengthens one's belief, I think. To recognize God's green Earth, is inspiration in itself. And ain't nuttin' korny about it. It's truth. And I feel sorry for those Atheists who prolly will never try to understand that.
People on this Earth really ruin it. All kinds of people.
Atheists are just as hypocritical as Christians though. So arguing about morality and belief is pointless, in my opinion. But I guess you gotta defend what you believe in, otherwise..

true enough. But religion deals largely with a subject that people are too afraid of to admit that they dont know the answer. Anything else you would look at logically and not believe it until it is proven to you. To use the example I used earlier, a scientist couldnt PROVE to you that there are not invisible rats running around your room right now. Is that a reason to believe they are there?

You can't really prove bible stories, if you find the location of the garden of eden it doesn't neccesarily mean the bible story is true.
Art immitates life, every story is based on something that actually happend or inspired by a place that existed.
It's just a book that teaches you how to live your life better.
Wasn't evolution accepted as fact years ago?
I mean when people find corpses from only 2,000 years ago it's obvious the average height has increased sufficiently.
That's proof to me.

its interesting that so many believe in a particular religion due to their fear of death, yet (because of their beliefs) they should welcome death more then any of us.

yea but, i mean lets be reasonable, we all know someone or something created us, whether it be a god, or matter. i believe religions try to define what we dont know.
i mean laws of science, theorys of evolution is probaly the most primitive step of undestanding the universe. lol i mean theres a billion stuff in space right now that just conflict with the many laws of science (ex: laws of physics). if the solar system were to just diminish it'll just throw all teh laws of science out of the window.

from the first day i went to church till i was 15 i wasnt afraid of death, because i truly believed in the religion, but as i started to have disbelief, i became worried because of what will happen in the afterlife.

But we do. Like I said be before, death is glorying. Just becuz people get sad and upset that they lose someone shouldn't be held against them. It's crazy how you could have someone in your life and than all the sudden be taken away, no longer in the flesh with you. But time goes on, and you know that they are in a better place. Everybody is scared of death, nobody knows what goes on after that....but we ALL are gonna die, and for someone to think that nuthin' happens after the fact, than I feel sorry for you and them negative realizations ya'll believe.
I mean how could ya'll think we was just put on some Earth to just die and that's it..? We just formed outta nowhere, outta some living organism to unexpectedly die at any given moment? That just doesn't make sense to me..

Naw, my point wasnt that religious folks should not mourn the loss of a loved one. What Im saying is that one of the motivating factors in believing in a particular religion is the fear of what happens after death. But if you believe in Christianity for example, death should be welcomed as it brings you to Heaven (hopefully).
As far as nothing happening after death, I dont see that as negative. I just see it as realistic. I think that sayin "ya'll think we was just put on some Earth to just die and that's it" is far more negative. Maybe an Athiest believes we are here to live.
I dunno, I agree we came from somewhere. I just think its normal egotistical man creating this Jesus character in the likeness of another man and God (though he isnt in physical form) has a lot of human character traits. lol. My thing is, what makes it appear as if religion has been created just to appease peoples fears is that our creator (God) is always good. He's loving, and caring, etc. How do you know our creator isnt completely evil and hateful?

besides the fact that your a lazy spoiled brat that makes your single parent father clean up your room, you dont even read up on the posts where there are things in space (galaxaies, stars, etc) that is undefiniable by modern laws of physics, and you hear talking about that we accpeted evolution as a fact.

What Im saying is that there are alot of people who are too afraid to simply say they dont know what happens after death. Its scary to a lot of people to not know, or to think that when we die...its over completely. That same fear can make a typically logical person think illogically. They rationalize an argument that would not apply to any other similar set of circumstances. They say that its ok to believe in God and Heaven and Hell, etc. because although you can not prove its true...you also cant prove its not true. The same could be said for my example of the invisible rats. I could tell you they are there and they protect you and have a master plan for what will happen in all of our lives....and you cant prove to me that they arent. The fact that you cant prove to me that they ARENT there isnt a good enough reason to believe that they are....its illogical. Same with the idea of an invisible man in the sky that watches over us. IMO.

Thats cool. Im not tryin to convince you to NOT believe in God or your religion. The way I look at things is, whatever makes you better as a person...do it. If you believed in a pet rock...but for some reason you were a better person for it, do that shit. I think for some people, religion or their belief in God helps them...for some, it hurts them. Likewise, my belief that organized religion is full of shit doesnt hurt me. There could be a "God" or there could not be...none of us know.

I hear you.
But there are Atheists on this board who say that shit, 'think we was just put on some Earth to just die and that's it', and comparing that ideation to one a Christian believes, is just negative. You, I don't think belongs in that category, but them hardcore Atheists, unfortunately yeah. I mean I ain't tryin' to speak for you, don't take it like that, but I'm just sayin' you don't come off like that..
And yeah but..
Even Bananas himself, said Atheism is a lil bitter. And for real though, shit IS.
I gotcha. I think there are also a fair amount of Athiest who make comments like that (we're just here to die) just to get under other peoples skin...especially on here.
True. That's a good possibility.

scientist couldnt completely prove the bible wrong, and they cant completely prove the big bang theory right.
true enough. But religion deals largely with a subject that people are too afraid of to admit that they dont know the answer. Anything else you would look at logically and not believe it until it is proven to you. To use the example I used earlier, a scientist couldnt PROVE to you that there are not invisible rats running around your room right now. Is that a reason to believe they are there?
daygo... hommie... you're confusing me... can you explain that better
IMO.
look lots of people such as yourself... you make logical sense with stuff like that...
however i still choose to believe that God is a higher power... and it just makes my life easier...
all my family since 301 have been CHRISTIANS
See that's all good.
However..atheists be tryin' to convince or push out their beliefs in various forms too.
When they start tryin' to take OUR rights AWAY, to claim and protect their 'rights', by doing stupid shit, is when I have a lil problem. Like for example. Atheists wanted to remove the manger off The Green at Christmas time becuz they said it violated their rights. Can someone please explain that? Here's a real good one. A CA suburb removed The Bill Of Rights outta the classroom becuz it was 'spiritually misguiding'. That is HISTORY. What in the fuck. Mind baffling. What is next? Christmas carols banned from department stores. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD, what's it to you? How is these simplistic actions hurting you? You know what I'm sayin'? If they preachin' and pushin' religion to try to convert you, than thats another thang....like a man with a Bible standing in front of K-Mart on Christmas Eve...or somethang along those lines...ya know shit like that....but honestly I don't understand how any of those other thangs above are violating rights.
It's as if they gotta be defiant and pick apart the 'unintelligent who believe in some mystery in the sky'....that's when I catch feelings. :-\

Yeah some shit can be a little over the top. But some shit I understand. Im all for the seperation between church and state. I dont understand why the pledge of allegiance is still said in classrooms when it says "under God". I dont think thats right, when not all children believe in a God. The Allegiance is ok, because the classes are in America...but the "under God" part isnt right. Or even the fact that our money says "In God We Trust". I dont see how thats right either. Neither of those two hurt me personally, but if our Pledge of Allegiance said "without God" you can best believe every religious person out there would be in an uproar over it and would think it wasnt right for their children to have to say it every morning. Down here thers been an ongoing battle over whether or not to keep a cross up that is public property. Its been there forever, but I can see why some people get bothered. Not just Athiest, but anyone who doesnt use a cross as a symbol for their religion. Best believe if it were a Star of David, there woulda been swastikas spray painted all over it by now...

Conflicts between religions are caused by people trying to convert others...
That's why I'm not as tolerant towards Christians anymore......It's queen's fault ::)
I DON TRY CONVERTING NO ONE...
BUT IF SOME ONE WANTS TO BE CHRISTIAN ID GUIDE THEM..

Becuz at the same time, the world was built on religion. And America was built on Christianity. Organized law or modern laws that we follow today, however you wanna word it, we follow, based on thou shalt not murder...the way Sunday feels....we all know bout the Sabbath and from across the country, don't the majority of us eat earlier and rest and relax...how department stores were closed and some that still...or close early....somethang as simple as that formed outta a Bible and yet....from even a simpler sneeze....Easter...Christmas.....I just find it crazy how our everyday lives is based around somethang and...mannnnn I don't know.
Shit's hard...becuz I like the fact of saying 'under God'...but I get where you coming from...but see that's cuz of my belief....but I DO wanna respect everybody elses.....it's crazy....I got the influence of my Grandmother talkin' about how she thinks prayer should be back in school....so I'm like confused to how people don't like the 'one nation under God' reference.
I understand the rights of everybody, but I ain't feeling these modern times. Some shit is ridiculous.
Under the separation of church and state law, we 'ain't' allowed to TALK about The Bible but yet in science class we LEARN about evolution. Of course, when I was in High School, niggas always brought up and the girls always brought up The Bible in History class and shit becuz of a lil of the majority was a certain race...lol. But I see the suburban folks gettin' all touchy and they start filing this lawsuit and removing this from the class, and start protesting this and...it's all wack. Cuz than after that it starts hittin' our areas and now we affected...and that ain't right, imo.
In our elementary schools, we used to have religion classes after school was let out. And of course some boarding suburb got rid of it in they schools, had a lawsuit and won...so now they gon try to take it to the city. Get the fuck outta here, ya'll ain't even from here. You know? That's the type of shit that's pisses me off. Ain't no Jewish parent or Muslim parent had a problem with it, becuz it was Christian, they just DIDN'T send they kids there...but the Atheists got a problem..what the fuck?

Thing is, there are a lot of things throughout history that will change as time goes on. You can say this country was built on Christianity...but what does that mean? It was also built on murder and slavery. I dont necessarily think that our morals in regards to murder, etc are because of the Bible. A completely uncontacted tribe in the middle of the rain forest more then likely has rules against killing eachother. As far as evolution in school, you can prove that things on this earth evolve, its pretty clear. If you could not prove it, it wouldnt be taught. Teaching evolution is not the same as supporting Athiesm. I think there are some religious people who have looked at the scientific facts and rather then going head on against them....embrace them and still use their religion or belief in God as a way to better themselves. Taking phrases such as "under God" or "In God We Trust" out of the Pledge or our money doesnt give any more power to Athiest (again, that would only be if it were changed to "without God", etc). It just keeps things nuetral for people who might believe in ANYthing. I know what u mean about not wantin people from outside your area to be able to have an effect on your school, etc. But in reality, that shit will ALWAYS happen. I live in Southern Cali, and a court case on the other side of the country could have an effect on our laws, or whatever...u know?

that pet rocc thing is a good point...it's simple placebo effect. niggas think and niggas believe they will feel better and if they truly believe it then chances are it's working out for them. but that dont make 'em a better person and it certainly dont make it right. because when it comes down to it all they doing is lying to themselves. seriously..you wanna be delusional or not?. you may think that pet rocc done cured your headaches but in reality it never did shit for you. it just took your mind of the real problem. like them stupid muthafuccas who believe in the power of prayer and refuse to go to the doctor. where they at?. you know where they at. they're competing with lights' mother in the 2009 olympics of rotting flesh.

atheism, so nothing exploded into nothing for no reason and something turned into something from nothing to create the dinosaurs, makes total sense
So just because our knowledge hasn't increased to the level where we can know for sure how the universe was created, means that it must've been created by an all-powerful being who is watching over us, yet not showing itself. And this all powerful being cares about each and every one of us and watches over us, but it won't lift a finger when our lives are going to shit. That's what my parents told me, PLUS there's a book written about it. That must be the answer.
At least the people who lived thousands of years ago had an excuse....they were idiots who didn't know anything and would believe anything you told them.
The problem with man is that we are so desperate for answers that we will make them up, just to give ourselves peace of mind.
