Title: does the screwed+chopped subgenre get much love out west?

because if you wanted to get technical that is, more or less how the genre started: slowing/choppin old DPG/Dre/NWA cuts. Also how do you feel [specifically] about the sub-genre?

well WC's new track with cube got a screwed hook. Some of the hooks are cool, but besides that i don't fuck with it. And it's over-used as well

haha true,

i'd expect it from texas/southern artists, its everyday-culture down here;

of course, its mainstream as of 2005 -- influence has spread east and west.

yup, non southern artists think they can just tap into the southern market by having a chooped and screwed hook.

I have a Untold Story Vol. 2 Chopped & Screwed version, it sounds like shit.  :-\

It's only cool on Southern records imo, that's where it came from and that's where it fits the best.
