Beat Butcha u can thank dre's mastering engineer for the extra bang < So you got the deal who mastered it.
Damn, this is best album since his 1st 2 and Restless. It's pure banger, and on the Gangsta, Gangsta song he made it clear to everybody. 1983? DAMN!
-
What a great surprise, amazing album, thanx MR X!!!! Everything is perfect on this album.
-
Xzibit in Movie; No Country For Old Man!

-
next tuesday.
-
^cool well i told the store down the road to call me when it comes in. Sweet.
-
"Killers Remorse" is a banger, dope way to end the album, ill Focus... beat and bishop and b real both did they thing. "1983" is probably the highlight
-
for me highlights are "Something More" "Louis Xiii" "Spread t Out" & "Movies"
-
can't say any highlights, the whole album is one highlight.
by the way, any info about the deluxe version?!
about the hard copy of the deluxe? will be?
-
love xzibit, love this album, i missed some lyrical but hardcore hip hop.

I just got off the phone with Xzibit... He said you're all a bunch of assholes for bootlegging this album.
-
After a proper spin I'm still slightly disappointed, and I'm sayin that 4 real because with a bit of work this could've been a really decent album.
It's impressive for an independent release still, and theres a few bangers on there Xzibit needs to get out as singles to promote this shit..
-
Something More :o :o :o on repeat!
-
I just got off the phone with Xzibit... He said you're all a bunch of assholes for bootlegging this album.
Sounds about right lol. 1st day purchase for me I will patiently wait until Tuesday
-

uhmm i don't think so, unless you're joking. I was with X yesterday at his show in Oakland doing the dubcnn interview and when I told him it leaked his reponse was basically "it's all good let the fans get it and tell 'em to cop it if they like what they hear"
-

love X but this is how i was feeling too...like the middle of the CD wasnt made for me...it was made for the Pimp My Ride crowd...
-
love xzibit, love this album, i missed some lyrical but hardcore hip hop.

Yeah I'd like to hear a bit more about that, sounds like Rosenberg fucked him over

Sounds good for the most part ... the tracks from 8 to 12 hurt the overall quality of the album though

This is why the West is dead. Best West Coast album in years & there are only two pages of replies.
Meanwhile, you guys hear Dre had a hand in mixing a song & it'll go ten pages.

It's sad cuz it's true. SMH...
One of my fave albums of the year. I'm definitely coppin once it drops in the UK, whenever that is...
-
Got my copy today. local store in Australia suprised if its not in the UK??
Anyway, first listen iam a little disappointed. Had very high expectations though and i wont judge it off one listen.
Xzibit comes as good as ever on the mic, nothing at all wrong with his performance. I think some of the production and hooks was a let down for me but i felt the same about slaughter house now i love the album so...
I think that the album started pretty decent but then went a bit "meh" but then at the end :o
"meaning of life" and "louis XIII" both really good but then "enjoy the night" not as good but i like the hook cos i always get fucked up and "movies" pretty darn dope but "i came to kill" & "killers remorse" were what had me like :o 8) :o best songs on the album for me!
The "1983(or 5)" remix is really good too.
Slim the mobster and Bishop both sounded really good on this album. Waste of talent with their deals falling through.
-
Can anyone shed some light on 1983 lol? What happened with him and Eminem? Also why that year? Says it his "journey begins" but ...
-
check out that interview dubccn did with him...he talks breafly on that song
-
15. Movie Ft. Crooked I, Slim Da Mobster & Game (Prod. By Akon)
Don't know what's more surprising about this track. The fact that Akon produced it or that I could understand what Slim Da Mobster was saying for once.
-

awesome track definitely a highlight 8)
seems akon can drop west coast sounding bangers like that one with ya boy.
-
Badass album..... I tried getting the album at bestbuy but they didn't have it for some reason.... So I just ordered it from there to get it delivered it to my house... But definitely on the top albums of the year... 8)
-
any info about the deluxe hard copys?!
will there be?!
-
light years ahead of Full Circle
buying this no question... who's that on the hook of "Movie" ?
-
Never really been a huge Xzibit fan, but I loved this album. The 3 tracks toward the end are the best: Movies, I Came To Kill, & Killer's Remorse. Love those songs. I would only take 3 songs off the album. Gangsta Gangsta is straight annoying to me, worst song on the album. Spread It Out and Enjoy The Night are ok, but could've been left off the album. And I like the remix of 1983 better then the original. 8.5/10
-

I see that everyone with a good ear for music appreciate this album, Akon made a great beat, Rick Rock joints are banging, nice Dre production, Xzibit like in his prime...guests delivered great rhymes. Im enjoying this album every fucking day, thank u MR X for staying true to westcoast sound. I wouldnt mind Gotta Get Em ft Kobe on the album as well as Phenom.
-
Purchased the deluxe edition on Itunes and WOW, I am impressed. Like I said about Cube 6 years ago when he made a "comeback", I do not want to wait another 6 years before X drops another album.
-
Crook just has to kill everything, his verse and flow on Movie :o
-
I wouldnt mind Gotta Get Em ft Kobe on the album as well as Phenom.
Yeah, would like to see a crisp mastered "Gotta Get Em" on the album.. would rather see Hurt Locker or Hurt Locker remix on the album than Phenom though.
Bonus tracks "Crazy" & "Throw It Like It's Free" is better than some of the tracks on the album too.. both crazy imo, Jellyroll killed the beat and hook.
-
Awesome album 8) ;D 8) ;D

really don't like it?!

a lot better than i expected, well worth a purchase.
-
Better than expecting, but should have dropped the guests that weren't Likwit/Soul Assassins, they didn't hold their weight.
I've only listened once so far but my 1983 remix sounded exactly the same as the original. Do I need to listen closer or have i been ripped off?
-
Great album, I really like it. If he had of cut some of the weaker tracks off it would of flowed a little better.
Slim Tha Mobster came correct on both features, dude is getting better!
-
Great to hear all the positive reviews for this album. I'm going to be buying it later. It will be one of only a few albums I've bought this year. The only other ones I can think of were Slaughterhouse and Nas. Slaughterhouse was disappointing and the jury is still out on the Nas album.
-

Nas album is my favourite of the year... classic shit
EDIT: THe more I listen to Xzibit's, the closer the battle is. Could've taken out a couple tracks in the 8-12 range I believe but 8)

LoL, they're very similar, but the remix features a bassline.. for part of the track at least. :P
-
This album still HEAVY in rotation.
-
It sounds big and epic, loving it
-
Just got around to listening to this album and man I gotta say its a real banger. Im surprised how dope it is. Napalm will be in steady rotation, I like most of the songs on this.

Throw it like its Free is just :o :o :o :o True speaker destroyer!
-
I listened to some of this album and to be honest I'm not really feeling it , the single with E- 40 Up out the way is the highlight of the album in my opinion . But I will give it another chance , I didn't like the beat selection on first listen , plus some songs just don't sound good period . Constructively critisized , I still think At the speed of life , 40 Days and 40 Nights and Restless are his peak
-
Hopefully that Serial Rhyme Killas (B Real, X, Young De) will drop next. The 2 tracks they did on Napalm are fire

3) Movies
Lots more but I'm playin those the most... Phenom is dope too.

Same thing happened with Streetlights

I'm afraid of what happened with Cube LNCL album I bought on day one, than after a 6 months he put aot an OG version with a dvd...
That's why i ain't often buy albums on the 1st day.

Well, "Coming Home" DVD will be released with Napalm too, so you got the point, but I doubt there will be hard copy of Deluxe version.
-
Didn't X say they were gonna release Louis XIII? Would be cool if Madlib tweaked the beat and got Phil, Defari & Wildchild on it.
-
hella solid album. worth the 9.99 purchase at best buy. my favorite so far is movies, forever a g, and stand tall (which is gettin the most play at the moment.) support X and buy it. to those complainin about the deluxe tracks and whether or they will be available in hard copy format, think about this, the cd is 72mins and some change, the deluxe time goes over 80minutes and cds can only hold 80minutes (duh!) so just look for a dl for the bonus cuts.
-

My bad man, didn't realize there wasn't a hard copy of the deluxe version. I bought the digital copy on Amazon.
-
definitely the best introductory section of what you'd call a traditional 'west coast' sounding album for ages. if i had to pick a favourite track it has to be the opener...that shit is seriously bumping 8)
but there are plenty of super dope level tracks...a few other standouts - gangsta gangsta, movies, everything, i came to kill. i also thought phenom and hurt lucker were pretty crazy. shame quik didn't produce for him this time, he has a good record of doing stuff with xzibit.
west west y'all.
-
any info about the vid with e-40?

not too much...
http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/news/id.21556/title.hip-hop-album-sales-the-week-ending-10-14-2012
what about slaughterhouse??
-
I'm only feeling the opener and Louis XIII is aaight.
And XZibit is one of my favorite rappers... :(
-
WoW I kind of slept on this and finally loaded it to my iPod and bumped it in my ride all day today..
This album is dope as soon as I see it in hard copy I will buy it just to suport X.....
So far my 2nd favorite rap album of 2012 the first being TERROR TAPEZ vol#2
-
Apart from a few songs, this album is incredible. Most definitely X's best album since "Restless".
Standout tracks:
1983 (Remix)
Everything
Meaning of Life
Napalm
Louis XIII
Xzibit will see some money from me on his bank account again :)
-
He only sold 3000 copies the first week :-\ this sucks because it's one of the best albums of the year.
-
Good Album, well done X for putting some effort in!
Going to bump this for a while!!!
-
Hope he could choose a good single that will help with AirPlay for him to make some money for his effort on this album!
Effort is all we can ask for from this artist with skills, always happy when one or two does exactly that!

This "Sasha" or whatever bitch is just too stupid for doing reviews. I mean, she wrote "1985" and it's wrong, and "Meaning Of Life"? Those are 2 standout tracks on "Napalm"... And you can see in comments how much people didn't agreed with her writings. I don't know, this album got sooo much good reviews and there's one "girl" who give 3.5. and Jennifer Lopez got 4. It's just wrong.

-
Does any one know what situation he got with eminem, he said somthing on that track 1983???
yea..im still surprised that nima interviewed him face to face and didnt ask him anything about that.
-
First, let me preface this by saying that this album isn't as great as his first 3, and doesn't even have the few bangers that the fourth album had. But its definitely his best work in years (outside of the epic cut "Thank You").
This is easily the best hiphop album of the day. Aside from that aweful heavy metal track, the album has no filler. All the guest appearances blend in perfectly, the beats and lyrics are all in harmony, and its that hardcore yet intelligent lyricism that made Xzibit one of the al time greats.
-
You letting NIK use your account again Brian?

do you feel that your opinion is so special or valuable that you have to create a new thread to discuss X's album ?

The bridge is corny but besides that, Napalm is a banger.

I don't see any Xzibit album thread or Xzibit is back thread. I know there was one when the album first came out, but that one is old

anyways, i hate when mods merge threads like that. infinite wanted to make his own thread to proclaim that xzibit's back, not to discuss the album. it generates more discussion on whether or not people believe he's back to top form. merging those threads makes no sense. it's like turning in three twenty dollar bills for a fifty so that u dont have to hold as many bills.

I don't think X had a 'best' period, he's an MC who grew technically over his first few albums (but that doesn't make his debut any weaker) the only think that has ever held him back is inclnsistancy in production. The best of his albums still lack a fluidity, but he's always worth checking.
What ever he does just needs to be over A Grade beats and he will bring it. One of the most natural on the Mic IMO

First half of 40 Dayz is near flawless then it runs out of steam and repeats somewhat
Speed of Life has some of Xzibits best tracks but still it's got lesser ones there too.
All his better albums still got their highs and lows, X hasn't delivered a straight classic IMO, but he hella dope

I still bump "Stand Tall" and "Movie" at least weekly... this album definitely got overlooked mostly due to dropping the same month as Kendrick Lamar looking back now
