True - lyrically.
-

-
Forgot about Crooked I, hes up there.
Ras Kass is iller though.
-
Crooked I does use metaphors and wordplay, but i've never ever heard him say anything Meaningful
Crooked I is a better MC, while Ras is a better Lyricist
I'll take Ras.
*Is expecting someone to come to this thread and proclaim Snoop as the best rapper / lyricist / mc on the west*
-
snoop is the best rapper

Snoop is not the best rapper at the moment but still is the king of the westcoast simple as that.

-
explain to me how x or crook are better then ras cuz it aint the case ras is versatile with his shit I could see a few people sayin x (even though he not better) but fuckin crook this nigga aint even made a damn cd yet how in the hell is he the best in the west?

Well Xzibit has a lot more charisma...Dont get me wrong, Ras is a better lyricist...But overall, xzibit is just better...He's got the total package, flow, lyrics, voice, I mean Just everything...There's nothing Xzibit lacks in...PeACe

Oh, and Crooked I has at least 30 songs on the net...That's more than enough too judge him by...
-
He blows Xzibit away lyrically. Especially the way X has been coming lately.
-
Are u being sarcastic?
no..
snoop is the best rapper
i didnt say that snoop is the best lyricist though.. but he's definatly the best rapper

Xzibit, Ras Kass & Crooked I should do a diss to Snoop.
Ras Kass is down with Kurupt & Xzibit, but I doubt it'd happen.
-
Ras Kass is No. 1 on the west.
-
Ras shits on Xzibit lyrically...Ras got no flow and is mad boring on the mic, one of the reasons he will never blow up comercially...I agree that Xzibit is probably the best overrall rapper on the West...
-
Ras has got a tight flow. He aint boring. His got lyrics that make u think.
-
if Ras is number 1 why aint he as bis as SnooP?
-
As Big not bis?
-
Xzibit, Ras Kass then Crooked I.
-
if Ras is number 1 why aint he as bis as SnooP?
Coz ppl don't wanna listen to lyrics, and hear stuff that makes u think. If they did then ppl like Common, Ras, Pharo, Nas etc would be getting played on Mtv constantly and going multi-plat all the time.
Ras will never be able to get even 5% of the success and fame snoop has, but snoop will never drop 1/2% of knowledge and lyrics that ras can.
-
if Ras is number 1 why aint he as bis as SnooP?
That's gotta be the dumbest question I've ever heard...It's Because he's not commercial, and doesn't appeal too 12 year old white girls, that's why...Maybe if he made a catchy song with some famous R&B singer on the hook he would become big, but I dont see that happening soon...PeAcE
-
its not a stupid question. Snoop gets hated on cause hes popular.
-
every rapper who TURNS popular gets hated on automatically, maybe that's why Ras doesn't wan't the fame.
On the real though:
LYRICS:
1: Ras
2: Xzibit
VOICE:
1: Xzibit
2: Ras
FLOW:
1: Xzibit
2: Ras
ATTITUDE:
1: Xzibit
2: Ras
CHARISMA
1: Xzibit
2: Ras
That's why Ras will always be the underrated underdog in the background.
When Golden State Warriors blows up, the general public will be like: "Golden State you say? That's the group with Xzibit and some other ones right?"
The only thing that strays off the underground-image though, was Ras's sad attempt to sell some records on "Back it up" feat. Kokane.
Can't blame him for trying to get some paper, but that joint was a horrible attempt.
-
True,
Xzibit is a better overall package than Ras..
How about a Xzibit and Tash comparison...

I agree with that except i think ras has more attitude. Hes undergound, hungrey. xzibit only sounds harder cause of his voice. Also those reasons arent why ras will always be underground. There are rappers with no flow, lyrics, attitude or anything but catchy singles and they are rich and famous. Ras will stay underground becuase hes too real for TV. MTV doesnt wanna hear shit that makes they head think. "So if you wanna dance so fuckin much then buy NSync!"

Mostly true, but don't forget that Ras tried to go mainstream as you call it with the single "Back it up"

I wouldnt say he tried to go mainstream. He had kokane on a song that was a single type song that you wouldnt expect from Ras. But its not like he tried singing and had some sellout on the track. He did what every rapper does on the first single. He tried to make a catchy bouncy track while the rest of his cd was the Ras Kass we like. And what do you mean "As I call it"? Im sure we all know what mainstream means.

yea, but if Xzibit or Eminem or any other rapper did it, people would be screaming SeLlOuT before you know it.
And if this single took off, some people probably WOULD call it that.
I wouldn't though :D

Eminem comes out with singles even worse than this on every record. And yeah i think he sold out.

im just gonna ignore that snoop is the best rapper post, even though its a nice joke....
