Title: Would assassinating Vincente Fox .....
Post by: J Bananas on May 24, 2006, 04:49:15 PM
What better way for the American people to express their resentment for getting played by the Mexican government? plus it would show illegal immigrants (if they can comprehend) and their advocates that we are done bullshitting.....

haha, is this a serious question, if so the illegal immigration isnt possible without the Bush administration also, so assasinating Fox would not achieve much. Mexicans might cheer though

Vicente Fox isn't advocating any kind of violence against our country, so I don't think we should advocate violence against him.  This is not an issue to go to war over because nobody's life is at hand.  It's maddening and lots of people are pissed but Vicente Fox has done nothing to garner an attack against him, that's rediculous.

honestly, no one should get killed. it would make matters worst, Iraq, U.S. (Bush) or Mexico, no leader should get killed.

'Shots heard' in Capitol office

Tactical police units are searching the building
Police in Washington DC are investigating after the sound of gunfire was reported on Capitol Hill.
The apparent shots were heard at garage level in the Rayburn House Office Building, where members of the US House of Representatives have their offices.

Tactical teams are conducting a search of the building, including looking for anyone with a weapon, said police spokeswoman Sgt Kimberly Schneider.

People inside the building have been asked to stay in their offices.

The Rayburn building is on the other side of Independence Avenue from the Capitol complex. It is connected to the complex by underground passages.

'Loud sound'

US news outlets are reporting that two women ran out of the building and told police they saw a white man with a gun inside.

But this was not confirmed by Sgt Schneider.

She said a telephone call was made to police at 1030 local time reporting "gunfire, shots fired, [or] a loud sound" inside the building.

She said there was no independent confirmation that shots had been fired and no reports of injuries or suspects.

She said an earlier lockdown of the entire US government complex had now been lifted.

Earlier, Senate Sergeant at Arms Bill Pickle told Reuters news agency police responding to the area where they believed the shots came from "smelled what seemed to be gunpowder".

TV pictures showed police officers swarming the streets around the building, but little clear information was available.

The House of Representatives is not in session, but a committee hearing was going on at the time of the incident.

'Unsettling'

Representative Peter Hoekstra, conducting the hearing, told Associated Press he interrupted a witness to request those attending to remain in the room and ordered the doors closed.

"It's a little unsettling to get a Blackberry message put in front of you that says there's gunfire in the building," he said.

Eric Tamarkin, a congressman's assistant, said security in the area was extremely strict. He said there were police checks in place on the surrounding roads.

Some witnesses have pointed out there is a firing range in the same building and on the same level as the garage. Others suggest the sounds heard could have been a car backfiring.
