I'm thinkin he just helped out with it cuz it's def not a Dr. Dre beat (altough I'm feelin this beat too) :)
-
It's alright.
-
It says Dre in the credits, the sounds real experimental and simple, not bad i kinda dig it

Nice, funky beat from Nottz, Snoops flow is really laid back, I like it.
R.Kelly drops a catchy hook too, so this is indeed a dope track

It's from the scene where Eddie's being washed by the royal bathers. The "The royal penis is clean, your highness" -scene.

If I was Snoop, I would have Dre mix as much of this album as possible. They need to get that Break Up 2 Make Up album back poppin again but that won't happen. This cd should be dope.

Things have actually changed....in the 90's, the South listened to west coast music just as much or more as the west plays southern music now. But since the south blew up, they have a new found cockiness, and they don't care nearly as much about west coast music, unless it's on radio. In the last 3 years, the ONLY west coast songs to get played in heavy rotation on radio and from cars drivin by on the street has been "How we do" "Hate it or love it" "Drop it like it's hot" "Tell me when to go" "One blood" and "U and dat". They don't really care about artists or songs that aren't on radio a lot, and it depends on the song.
So for "Vato"....nobody in the south has been pumpin it at all. They are on "One blood" hard, but not "Vato" at all. However...I think Candy will be major out here if it becomes a single, regardless of how many people on this site don't like it. I remember when "Drop it like it's hot" first dropped...90% of this board said Snoop was done, and that the song was absolute trash......and that ended up becoming one of the biggest three singles he ever had in his career.

Cant get enough of this song!!! Cdq version is even better, song bumps hard.

Yeah you right about that...I had another homie from Alabama who said he used to like DJ Quik like on "Rhythm-al-ism" but he said he no longer fucked with him cause he was sorry now? WTF!!?? And like you were saying...This dude was all like "Lil' Weezy is hard...Lil' Wayne be snappin" "The Carter 2 is snappin...Blah Blah Blah" He's the best etc...HAHA...the dirty south is definitely forgeting were thier influences came from...Like Dre' said..."We started this gangsta shit...and this the muthafuckin' thanks we get?" Thats the truth...and dude would always hate on 2Pac...he'd be like "why you still play 2Pac man...dude is dead" He'd try to get under my skin but i used to just laugh at dude...dudes from the south are a trip but its all good...but for the most part they do be banging the commercial radio shit only tho'...the other shit they just tend to forget and not support it and thats why artist like Daz,Kurupt,W.C., Ice Cube etc. get no love like Snoop and The Game...but whatever...i aint buying Jay-Z's new album when it drops.Just out of Spite...we can play that game too...honestly I just never really got into Jay-Z...I dont know why...the only album of his that i bought was the album with "Can i get a..." with JaRule and that chick Milian something...i just bought it cause it was the thing to get back when i was a kid...i didnt know know better...you just wanted to fit in when your a kid but as you grow you tend to do what the fuck you want...now im just like whatever...>:( ;D...But Jay-Z is nice tho'...I'll give him that...Aight then...Peace!!
-
This is gonna be a hit....
-
Damn, the CQ version does make it sound a lot better. And I see why y'all were sayin it sounds like Dre mixed it....the lows n sharp snares are hittin hard like his tracks do. For some reason, this beat sounds like somethin that Cube would spit to on his last album.

and u think it has the potential to be a hit?
-
This song is ok, but the party of R. Kelly at the end could be more innovative...
comin to america, in german I think it's "Der Prinz aus Zamunda" ("Prince Of Zamunda") right?
When Eddy Murphy works is a prince and works for a fast food restaurant? it's an old film, don't know that there's a sample taken...

I don't know about the german version but it's the right movie, in french it's "Un Prince a New York".
The track is okay it's still censored, i'm sure it can be a hit
-
they made a big mistake commercially by taking pharrel off of "vato".......this single with r kelly is sick though
-
on nearly every song i'd prefer b-real before pharrell, but on vato it was way too funny how pharrell did the chicano :D
-
really loving this song (no homo)
-
oh btw there's no free download slots available. can someone hook up the cdq version again?
-
i cannot understand why peops are feelin' this track and vato so much. hearing both tracks has been a real disappointment to me.
vato is a suprisingly dope neptunes beat and snoop sort of comes correct but the hook and bridge is wack, i'm not hating on b real cos it's not his hook (he just sings it) and he is capable of something much better but it ruins what could have been a good track.
this track with r kelly is just very very average. again dopish beat but little things ruin it. R. Kelly constantly referring to himself in the hook - if he has to be on a snoop album, he should shu the f**k up and just sing and lmao about dre telling snoop to go off with doc and cook up some dope a** lyrics, sh*t if this what they came up with imagine how wack the first set were.
if dre f**k'n poroduced this sh*t rather than just mixed the track down we wouldn't just have a good clean sound we would not have all these little annoying features, they would have been scrapped.
i will get hate for this but drop it like its hot to me is one of the dopest tracks snoop ever did except for the wack verse from pharrell. that was a very original gangsta rap joint. yes r&g was awful but drop it like its hot sh*ts on both tracks from tbct so far imo.
album is looking like a disappointment and i wonder if the dre tracks will be too maybe this really is the end of both of them... or maybe i should just shut the f**k up and crawl into whatever hole i came out of...

Hey, that is your opinion. Snoop's music is not for everyone. But I do like this track though.

fair enough but don't get me wrong, i am (was in the early 90s) a big fan of snoop, i'm just not feelin these tracks at all.
