I just got done listening to this whole cd and if it were an actual album and it was all new the time it was released i would've easily given it a 5/5 rating and it would be his #2 album right behind Illmatic. Every track had excellent lyrics and the right production to go with it. What do you guys think of it?

It's definitely superior to the average hip-hop album. The album is also better than his "I Am" album or his "Nastradamous" album. It's dope how the album has no guest appearances, and the beats are simple, so you can really get up close and personal with the lyrics. Very solid album, but still I'd only give it a 3.5/5.

atleast 4/5 maybe 4.5/5
some bangin tracks. blaze a 50, poppa was a playa, my way, etc.
Only a few average tracks
-
purple is the dopest track on that album
-
i always loved doo rags
-
doo rags is my favorite track on the album, i put it right behind ill/stillmatic

I agree its his 2nd best album lyrically. Musically it leaves a little something to be desired but they work, and you end up paying more attention to the lyrics that way anyway. Lyrically 5/5, musically 2.75/5

Graet buy, most of the tracks were originally supposed to be on I Am but that shit leaked and he changed it. It's at least a 4/5
chill

yeah its cool.. i'm STILL waiting for lost tapes 2.. that shit was meant to be out ages ago...

Good album, although I don't think it's as great as some make it out to be. Some of the tracks were leftovers for a valid reason.
4/5 or something. On par with the rest of Nas' catalogue, but not superior.
-
3/5, althought haven't listened to it in a while. Maybe now is a good time to dig it out :)
-
Does anyone know what sample he used on "poppa was a playa"?
-
There are some great tracks on there - My Way, Black Zombies, Purple, Drunk by Myself, Poppa Was a Player. Fetus was a dope concept song, and it came off well, too. I wouldn't call it classic, but a very solid album and worth buying.

3.5/5...nice album but not his best work. i liked stillmatic and it was written more, with illmatic being tops.
-
There is nothing I would change about that album. Every song is good, it's the right lenght, no guests, no skits...it's a very nice album.
-
i feel it mos def. didnt get the credit it deserved...
-
awesome album, tied for my 2nd fav nas album after illmatic, with IWW
